Look again, Planet is up there. Brazil is more of a fantasy movie then Sci-fi, "Rock and Rule" is indeed awesome! i adored that since i taped it off Cinemax when i was 10 in 1992 and the same for "Heavy Metal" that year.

The fly

I was just channel flicking one night round about midnight and on E4 they where showing the fly. It shown him turned into the fly creature typing a list of
chemicals into his PC. It shown his disgusting ugly face and I was like this.

Emotion list in order of time

1)

2)

3)

The second time I watched it his girlfriend having a nightmare that she was giving birth. A large insect pod came out causing her to cry and wimper in horror to what has just came out of her for a second before slowly dying or giving birth to more.

I think I've seen that before, it has Jeff Goldblum as the main character right?

Yes, and directed by the inimitable David Cronenberg.

One of the few instances where the remake outclasses the original.

That's the one, I remember Iacovos telling me about it at school one day so I watched it the other day, It is very weird.

Where did this obnoxious trope of children calling everything "weird" originate from?

Because something is unconventional, it's "weird?"

There's nothing "weird" about The Fly. It's a great piece of Science Fiction and maintains a traditional three-act structure. It never strays from convention to any great degree, but it certainly doesn't stagnate in the uniformity of most mainstream cinema. And for that it's "weird?"

Just another word that's being over-used and misapplied by today's youth.

What do you have against children?
Every time a child on here posts, you ALWAYS have to contradict them and do all you can to be nasty to them. Sure, we are younger than you. but that does not suddenly mean that we are stupid and cannot achieve things and are obnoxious.

I actually speak as well spoken as much as I can, But "weird" just seemed to fit in with what I thought of the movie.

"Weird" Is also an opinion.
Something on here which you NEVER let people have, judging by what you said in our argument on the "Disney Disgust" thread.

I am not trying to be rude, but I am just standing up for myself and the other children on these message boards.

Clearly not because the use of the word "weird" is a clear demonstration of your inability to articulate your feelings. What it says it that you have reacted impulsively and have little justification or comprehension for the material.

Children are, by their very nature, dull, uncultured and uneducated. I can't be arsed trying to reason with the mush in their skulls.

The only dull, uncultured and uneducated person around here, is you. If being nasty to children is your hobby.

You were one too you know.

As for the word "weird". Even the most well spoken and well educated English teachers at my school use the word when writing essay examples and report cards. So it clearly must be just you that thinks that.

RA, your mood is worse than normal today! :p

We could always try to make children who are eager to learn less dull, more cultured, and more educated...

You could impart some of your hard-learned wisdom.

Or...
