Something tells me the movie will probably never get made. lets face some facts, Harrison is 65 and getting older. This movie is probably 3 to 4 years from coming out, he'll be almost 70 and playing Indiana Jones. Aint gonna happen. And if they turn the whole movie over to Shia, it isn't an Indiana Jones movie, simple as that.

KotCS was already a "Indy and Mutt adventuring together" -kind of story. They don't have to change anything in that formula, if they want to do another.

But I agree, it'd have to happen soon. What's the real question is what would we accept? I mean, if Mutt gets 50 % of the screen time and action and Indy gets another 50 %, would that be acceptable? (I guess I could live with it ? it isn't that far from what we just saw in KotCS).

If they scrap the Indy franchise and start a Mutt franchise, it's going to bomb. I mean, would you go see Mutt Williams and the... (fill in the blank). I liked Shia in KOTCS, but come on!!!

I?ve no problem with Shia LaBeouf reprising his role as Mutt Williams in a new Indiana Jones spin-off series. In fact I was hoping for an Indiana Jones spin-off after viewing Superman Returns and seeing how the creators have prepared a way for that to happen by giving Superman a son.

In fact the very ending of Superman Returns with Clark saying ?the father becomes the son and the son becomes the father? let me know what will transpire in the next movie. And so here comes the same thing with good ole Indy.

Actually that Kryptonian prophecy was all out of context with the way it was used in the original Superman movies.

Nevertheless I think that Shia LaBeouf is a good future for the Indiana Jones franchise. It is understandable that Harrison Ford is getting up in age and he understands that he cannot carry the Fedora for the next generation because he won?t be here forever. I really like Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones but I also can make peace with the mortality of the human race due to sin. The wages of sin is death. And as long as we are in this world death will define stuff like that.

I liked the character of Shia LaBeouf as Mutt Williams; yet I hope that they won?t ruin Indiana Jones by having him carry both the whip and all because that is uniquely Harrison Ford. Sure Mutt can wear the Fedora but I won?t watch it he is always utilizing the bullwhip as if he were his father. I think that it?d be better if they have Mutt donning the fedora and using his Swithbalde knife and Rapier. I liked him in the sword fight and I feel that it?d be fine to keep Mutt in that style. Of course Mutt can crack the whip in certain situations, but not use it constantly. I also think that it?d be nice they continue to keep Mutt?s bike as apart of his character in this new spin-off series.

I only hope that if a new series is created that it won't be a moral flop like NBC's Knight Rider or Warner Brothers Smallville. Those are the worst programs ever. It is almost as if they wanted to make Smallville a sensual soap opera with all the sexual situations and the lame rock music. NBC's Knight Rider is nothing more than a pleasure box for teens with no moral values. SciFi's Flash Gordon is soooo much better than those two disgusting shows.

I was just about to say that.

This is all i know Ive been in love a few times, but the first time was with Indiana Jones, cheesey as it sounds i was. Ive been waiting and wishing that the Indiana movies wouldnt just die in the 80s or 90s. The people my age need to have Indy movies made in their time. Also I'm an actress, and Ive been waiting for a movie with a role to get me started in film. Indy5 is just what Ive been waiting for.

Maybe they should do as they did with Raiders and not use the main character's name in the title. Just because it's called 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' doesn't make it seem any less of an Indy movie and, in my humble opinion, it's THE Indiana Jones adventure :whip:

I can still see Mutt as a sidekick, although they did leave me wondering what Mutt would look like in a fedora at the end. Come on Mutt... put on that fedora. Let us see what ya look like! :whip:

If a Mutt Jones movie is made, is everyone going to be upset when Spielberg doesn't direct?

I will be upset. It's just not the same without Spielberg. He's got to do it in my opinion. And ... what do you mean WHEN Speilberg doesn't direct? Is that already a given or something? :whip:

They would have to put Indy in there, too.

I think a spin off movie is an asinine idea and I'm not for it, at all. It's Indy. He needs to be there... I would suggest ending it at 5 if they do another one.

Well nothing is gonna stop it from happening, I'm sure we'll be seeing either Indiana Jones and the (insert title) or Mutt Jones and the (insert title)

Personally, I'd rather see them do Mutt Jones and leave Indy alone, at least we can happily ignore a Mutt spinoff rather than have to deal with Indy V

I know that Spielberg is filming a movie called Titin or something like that in New Zealand this September and supposedly is going to be filmed in 40 days or something like that. My gut feeling is if Indy 5 happens it will be announced around Christmas, when the DVD for KotCS is released, filmed Summer 2009 and released Summer 2010.

I mean I think we can all agree that if Indy 5 is going to happen, the rumors of a script and such need to start coming in the next few months, because if it doesn't happen soon...it isn't going to happen at all.

Titin? I think you're thinking of the amateur porno.
Spielberg IS directing a movie titled "Tintin" though, it's based on some wildly popular comic series that apparently you and haven't heard of yet. Was it lonely under that rock?

Ya got geek whipped, son! :whip:
