I think it was an Indy Zone

Probably means we won't see another Indy series after Tomb of the Gods, but I hope not. If DH looses the license, maybe BOOM or Dynamite Comics can get it.

So far I have loved Indiana Jones Adventures and Tomb of the Gods, but DH doesn't really seem to know what to do with the license.

Well, that's it. Indy's failed in every medium possible. I guess no one wants anything to do with him these days.

Well, everything except LEGO. That series (toy line and video game) is doing pretty well.

We still have the DH Omnibus

Hopefully the next couple sell well enough to keep him alive in 4 colors. DH says they sold pretty well, just as Indy Adventures did. But it's been so long since the first issue of Indy Adventures, probably won't be much interest if an issue 2 ever shows up.

Looks like Indy isn't done yet!

From Mitchell Hallock's comic con report

Quote:
Dark Horse Comic News
Speaking of Dark Horse, I spoke with Director of Marketing, Dirk Wood, and asked when will we see Indy's next comic adventure. Dirk said that Indy will continue in a one per year mini-series, with the next starting in later 2009, and that the digest size Indiana Jones Adventures will also be coming out again later in 2009.

I'm ok with a yearly mini-series.A few Indy comics is alot better then no Indy comics.

Lets keep our fingers crossed.

Once per year means they can release on a bimonthly schedule with 3-4 months between series. With delays, a quarterly schedule. This is a good pace to keep us wanting more.

With all the delays that happens, especially with "Tomb of the Gods" and now the pushed back "Army of the Dead" novel, I can see why the fans get frustrated. But come on now, you know we'll buy 'em anyway...

Thanks for the info. - this is unfortunate. So, does this mean that the Marvel Omnibus reprints ("Furthur Adventures of Indiana Jones") will not continue? They still have at least two more Omnibuses to go before they finish out the series.
If anyone has any definitive info. on this one way or another, please post this here - I noticed that there have no solicitations for the 2nd Marvel Reprint Omnibus....

Indiana Jones Zone at DarkHorse.com

I was wondering if anyone else noticed that the Indiana Jones zone on the Dark Horse website has vanished? You can no longer access it.

I hope this isn't any indication of a lack of potential to their Indiana Jones line.

I'm hoping for complete Further Adventures releases.

It disappeared a few weeks back

and was discussed in the Tomb of the Gods thread. As for the future of the Further Adventures Omnibus, I'm sure it will depend on sales of the first one.

Good point! I'd be very happy with that.

Unfortunate? I think you're mis-reading. As far as I or anyone else knows, the second and third Further Adventures Omnibus' are still coming out. They're probably just holding off solicits for the second volume until the first volume has been on shelves for awhile longer (it only came out last month), so they can guage printing numbers for the second and third volumes (thereby printing numbers more in line with the previous volumes sales numbers to cut down on waste and costs).

There was a good five or six months between the release of the first and second Indy Omnibus'. I'm sure they will do the same here (if not even a slightly longer wait). I'd expect Volume 2 of Further Adventures to be released around August or September, and Volume 3 around February or March of 2010.

I'm positive Further Adventures Vol. 2 and 3 are still happening though.

All this article/quote was saying is that we'll get a brand new Indy mini series once per year (like Tomb of the Gods, just hopefully without the delays). Also, Indiana Jones Adventures (the digest comic) Volume 2 will be out later this year as well.

I have some possibly good news about the Indiana Jones comic line. I sent an e-mail to Dark Horse about the disappearance of the Indiana Jones zone and whether or not that might hint that the line is going to disappear.

Here is their reply:

"Thanks for the email!

We change out our zones on the website from time to time and that zone is simply one we have taken down for the time being. You will likely see it in the future along with more Indiana Jones. Do not fear, we are not discontinuing that property at this time.

We appreciate your interest in Dark Horse Comics."

So, that sounds like good news. We don't have to worry yet!

They're not discontinuing the property yet they're not really producing anything new either.
