Ford refused to provide voiceovers for the Lucasarts Indiana Jones games! Perhaps he has changed his stance on this now as he has a young son who plays games.

Sean Connery did it in 2005.

Ford refused previously, or just wasn't approached?

Looks like Ford has actually recorded new voiceover dialogue for the upcoming video game Lego Star Wars the Force Awakens.
Odd, Han Solo's voice in that video sounds nothing like Ford to me, but I guess we'll have to take their word for it.

It sounded like him to me, especially "about time you showed up" line.
Anyway here's an interview with one of the developers in which they confirm it's Ford himself. Along with Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, and even Max Von Sydow.

He was approached it was in an old Lucasfilm Fan Club magazine from the early 1990s sorry I cannot remember which one they mentioned Ford refused to provide voiceovers when someone asked the developers why he did not do the voiceovers on Fate Of Atlantis & the 3D Indy games. The official line was he was too busy but the unofficial line was he at the time felt games were juvenile so was not interested in the voiceover work.

The scanned interview used to be on one of the now defunct Lucasarts fan sites they had comprehensive details on the Lucasarts Indy games but its all long gone.

If anyone has the 1992-1995 Lucasfilm Fan Club magazines its somewhere in there when they talk about re-releasing the games on CD-Rom!

There are other stories re: Ford refusing voice over work as Indy. I remember reading some where in a thread that he had issues when he was to record for the Indy ride and pretty much refused since. Some sort of disagreement with Disney at the time. Which would have lead to him refusing FOA and others.

This is a wild guess estimate, but Fate of Atlantis probably has 50x the dialogue and studio time as Infernal Machine, which clocks in at 36 minutes total. (Sorry the link doesn't currently work.) That would discourage a high paid actor.

By all accounts he didn't like acting in Blade Runner much either. It wasn't exactly a harmonious set for most involved.

Practically the Indy outfit, too. All that's missing is the accessories. He's making it very easy to imagine him back in the role for Indy 5.

Hope he keeps the beard for Indy 5. Also wish they'd start filming this year

I think the beard makes him look a bit younger.

The whole gang was at the AFI presentation for John Williams. Ford:
Quote:
“That damn music follows me everywhere. They play it every time I walk on stage, every time I walk off a stage. It was playing in the operating room when I went in for my colonoscopy. I was walking down a crowded street in New York a couple of months ago and there was a big fire truck stuck in traffic that I passed in the opposite direction. Some guy leaned out of the cab and gave me one of those [Ford makes a groaning noise]. By the time I got to the end of the truck that music was blaring out of the loud speakers in the truck!”
Lucas:
Quote:
It was Williams’ music that helped turn a film “meant to be a fantasy for young people” into a culture-shaking franchise, telling the composer, “You made my life so easy. I had so many ideas for other movies, but I never had to get around to them thanks to ‘Star Wars.’”

Is he growing the beard for a role, or just being lazy?

As far as I've heard, he's on board a film called "Official Secrets" that was supposed to start filming last month.

If the beard disappears by the time Blade Runner 2 starts next month, we could probably say it's for Secrets.

I may need to read that again. I didn't see anything about reclusive or beard.

Just Dustin Hoffman.

Makes sense about the beard, as Harrison has rarely had one throughout his life. Reminds me of when he grew it for The Fugitive.

The (bushy) beard is gone as Harrison seems to enjoy taking pictures with fans in Budapest where he is filming Blade Runner 2 :
