A paragraph! You did it boy!;)

Now, I realize this might be presumptuous and a bit too soon, but do you think you could string together some thoughts on Indiana Jones and maybe share them in an Indiana Jones thread?

No pressure. I understand if you're a bit hesitant. This is a positive step on the road to recovery, but I know you can do it. I know you can.

It might help to watch the films while browsing thread topics...I wish you the best boy, and congratulations!:hat:

Baron von Frankenstein, are you sure you know what you're doing?

Nowadays I am playing... no games. Far too much cliffhanger homework to catch up on.

Pure archer, Nord.
Name - Wooler.
Health is 120, Stamina is like ... 380... Or at least that comes to mind. :]
I love sniping noobs from the dark corners of rooms.
I wonder if they have elvish bows like Oblivion did, cause That's what I'm lookin for. Haha.

I carry and orcish bow for the time being, and a steel greatsword for defense. (I also get all the free steel arrows i want from the target range in the Thieves Guild, which is nice considering they're free.)
I pretty much just avoid heavy armour cause its... heavy. And slows my guy down like a mofo.

On another note, I found that the game does a good job of actually letting you dodge left or right from an attack then counterattacking. (It came off as rather smooth for me.)
I still need to find a place to buy chainmail to give me the best of archery and protection though, so if you know a place. Do tell. :hat:
So far, stealth is the best way I can see to play this game. So fun.

Anyway, I haven't played a video game in a long time.
I was wondering if anybody had any insight on the game "Goldeneye Reloaded"
I've got a PS3, only one game, mostly use it for netflix and blu-rays... I saw a commercial for "Goldeneye Reloaded" and it struck a chord with me because of the Nintendo 64 nostalgia from back when I was in school all those years ago. My sister called me up this morning asking about a present for me in the 80 dollar range, this was the only thing that came to mind. If the multiplayer alone is like the old one then it must be worth it right? Should I suggest this? Any input?

Since The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a sequel to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (or at least the next game in the series), should I get Oblivion first (which I'm sure I can buy at a reduced price, although its official strategy guide is now undoubtedly nowhere to be found :() and finish it so that I could then understand the story and past game references in Skyrim?

Also, is Skyrim played only in first-person view or does it have a third-person view option as well? The only type of game I can't use a controller with is the first-person shooter (I need a keyboard & mouse for that). However, I can currently only play Skyrim on my PS3 as my PC is way too underpowered for it (as it was even when Oblivion was released in my PS3-less days, though it previously handled Morrowind okay).

Nope, it's not a direct sequel but a self-contained chapter like any Elder Scrolls piece before it. There might be some passing references but if the past games are anything to go by, there'll be a ton of ingame literature to help out a fellow who didn't catch all of 'em. What does help naturally is general knowledge of the lore behind Tamriel but since you mentioned playing Morrowind, you should have enough knowledge.

There is a 3rd persion option but games like these are highly context-sensitive with this issue, meaning you might make it alright and actually prefer it in the wide outdoors but there'll also be extensive narrow dungeon crawls where 3rd person camera may resort to extra wonkiness.

Note that I haven't played the game yet, I'm basing my information on what I've read of it and experiences with past Bethesda titles.

Guys, you should play L.A. Noire if you're into the adventure genre.
A rebirth for the genre and it shows what route the adventures must follow from now on!

By the way, games I'm looking forward are GTA V, Hitman 5, Tomb Raider 2012 and my favorite Max Payne 3! Favorite goes for 1 and 2. We'll see if 3 is any good but from the newer gameplay videos it seems good.

And the Duke Nukem Forever Single Player DLC of course. The rest of the game!

All the talk of Duke Nukem got me back in the mood to do some killing. Until then I'd managed to stay off games for a few months.

My weapon of choice was the original Far Cry again. The scenery there is still as stunning as the first time I experienced it. While Far Cry 2 is just as stunning, and it's a pyromaniac's dream causing fires, the gameplay there became a little repetetive with the same militia constantly respawning at the same roadblocks. And neither were there any mutant beasties to create extra danger and suspense.

Both games have landscapes into which I could imagine Indy venturing. There's even the option to set traps in a minor way in the original, with the barrels placed strategically on hilltops, or rope bridges than can be cut with a well aimed shot. And the option of leaping out of a moving vehicle before it crashes over a clifftop or into a roadblock gives me my cliffhanger fix as well!

I finally bought Skyrim (PS3 version) and its Official Strategy Guide on Monday, though I only finally had time to start playing it in earnest the following day. It's pretty good so far, and I've found myself mainly playing it in third-person view. I suppose I'm fortunate that I had the latest v1.2 patch downloaded and installed prior to playing the game for the first time. :)

It's still too bad that I didn't get a chance to play Oblivion when it was first released, as reading about its events still won't be the same as having lived (played) them. Though I technically could still buy it now and play it, that'd be that much more time (limited already as it is) that I then wouldn't be playing Skyrim. :(

i started playing Fallout: New Vegas again. i put myself in quite a pickle. i should've killed benny when i was at the Tops casino when i had the chance, so i could get the platinum chip from him and deliver it to mr house. but i didnt. and for some reason Caesar's legion is after me and shooting at me even though i carry his mark. i think it's because Boone's on my side. and the only way to get the platinum chip now is to go to fortification hill.....the dead center of Legion territory lol im sure my character would say FML at this point :p

Finished Uncharted 3 over the weekend. I will now dust Lara Croft: Guardian of Light off the virtual shelf. It's definitely a change in the Tomb Raider series. A lot of fun. More action than adventure/puzzle solving. But the puzzles you do come across are challenging and fun to figure out. The action quickly gets out of hand and your left fighting what feels like endless amounts of enemies on the screen at once.

I've also been keeping up with my Madden and NHL seasons. I like to play along with the real teams.

Took a break from Skyrim, and have been playing Rayman: Origins. Beautiful game, some of the best artwork that I've ever seen. If you or someone who know is on the side that video games can't be art, I implore you/them to play this game.
Also if you are a fan of difficult old-school side-scrollers - play this game.

Not much of a gamer but I got sucked in by Skyrim.

Got right in the spirit of things by choosing 'Aldric Thunderhead' as my character name.

I know my friend has bought me Uncharted 3 for Christmas so looking forward to that also.

Virtua Fighter

Just picked up Virtua Fighter 5 for $7...

Pays to indoctrinate the kids at a young age...they shunned earlier versions but they are addicted now!

The greatest fighting game...(y)
