RIP Peter Botwright of Wested Leather

It is with a heavy heart that I have to report the death of Peter Botwright of Wested Leather. Wested's Facebook page issued the following statement ...

"It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce that Peter Botwright has passed away. Please do not pass us your condolences, pass us your memories of the Indy King. Mr B touched so many people's lives and we know he will live forever around the world in all of our hearts.

Out of respect we will be closing the website and the shop for the next two weeks, all outstanding orders will be canceled and refunded over this time. As a family we would like to reopen the shop and continue Peter's legacy but for now we need your patience whilst we come to term with this sudden loss and sort his affairs.

The funeral will be held on 7th November at 2.30pm in Crockenhill church, we welcome anyone that loved him to attend. The wake will be private, with only family and close friends attending.

Just always remember; it's not the years, honey, it's the mileage."

Very sad news. Not just the maker of the original film jacket, but a pioneer in Indy fandom, back in the day when the word 'cosplay' hadn't even been invvented. RIP.

It is very sad, I was trying to get an interview with him. A descent person and a big contributor to the world of Indiana Jones gear and his iconic look. God bless you sir.
