Quintin Tarantino said that he is about to begin shooting INGLORIOUS BASTARDS, his WW2 period piece about a group of condemned,American GI's on a "suicide mission" in Nazi occupied France. I'm a big fan of QT's work, and have been waiting for this movie for a long time. Years ago, the rumor was that Michael Madsen(Mr.Blonde:cool: ), Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel and Adam Sandler were in it...sounds bada$$ to me(y)

This film has been on Tarantino's plate for more than 10 years. I'll believe it in another 5 when I see it.

I guess you can say I'm a fan of Tarantino too. I've seen all the movies he's written/directed and having recently seen Death Proof, I can say that he hasn't lost his touch. A WW2 movie should be something different for him and I can't wait to see what kind of violence he is gonna put into that film.

Pitt is official? I wonder if the DiCaprio rumor will pan out. Simon Pegg souds good as well, I have high hopes for this one, I have been excited ever since I found out he wanted to do it a year or two ago.

'...Berlin-born Nastassja Kinski ("Tess," "Cat People," "Inland Empire") is in talks to play the key role of German movie star Bridget Von Hammersmark in Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic "Inglorious Bastards."

Many had speculated that the role, which requires the speaking of much German, might go to Uma Thurman.

David Krumholtz ("Serenity," "Numb3rs") is in talks to play a member of Aldo "The Apache" Raine's Jewish-American Nazi-killing squad. I'd guess the American Hirschberg.

Simon Pegg ("Hot Fuzz," "Mission: Impossible III") is up for Lt. Archie Hicox, the British officer who aids Raine's efforts in Nazi-occupied Europe. The Brit role was long earmarked for Tarantino regular Tim Roth, but Roth is currently busy with the Fox Network series "Lie To Me."'

Quentin Tarantino has always been partial to left-field casting, so it should come as no surprise to hear that he's added Mike Myers to the roster of actors appearing in his war film Inglorious Bastards.

Myers will play British General Ed Fench, a military genius who assists in the film's plot to wipe out Nazi leaders. Word is that this will only be a small cameo role.

With only about seven weeks to go before the cameras roll, Inglorious Bastards is sprinting towards the starting line, grabbing actors whenever possible along the way. Two huge roles have remained open: Nazi Colonel Hans Landa, the 'Jew Hunter', and the chief female protagonist Shoshanna.

Now, only one is left. Quentin Tarantino has cast 51-year old German television actor Christoph Waltz as Landa.

Also in the cast, and replacing the rumored Nastassja Kinski, is Diane Kruger.

German-born Til Shweiger ("Driven," "Lara Croft II") will play either bloodthirsty maniac Hugo Stiglitz, the German-born member of Lt. Aldo Raine's American squad of angry, vengeful Nazi-killing Jews, or Wilhelm Wicki, an Austrian-born American Jew that Raine has taken into the the same squad. Both are characters in Quentin Tarantino's World War II epic "Inglorious Bastards," which starts shooting in Germany next month.
