Although i am sure there has been a similar thread i thought it would be an enjoyable exercise if we were to list our top ten favourite movies (including Indy)

NOT what we think are the greatest movies ever made, or what are acceptable choices but the movies that you watch most frequently and most importantly enjoy rather than merely enjoying it as a badge of honour.

Heres mine:

1.Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade/Raiders
2.Shawshank Redemption
3.Monty Pythons Life of Brian/Holy Grail
4.JFK
5.Pulp Fiction
6.Godfather trilogy
7.Seven
8.Terminator
9.Leon
10.Ben Hur

In no particular order (naturally this is highly subjective, particular in it's emphasis on films watched recently):

-Inherit the Wind
-Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
-12 Angry Men
-Once Upon a Time in the West
-Fiddler on the Roof
-The Apartment
-The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence
-Paint Your Wagon

Oh, there must be more movies than that that you enjoy watching.

Yes, there is. But I don't have many movies, and I most frequently watch these.

Here?s mine in no particular order

  • Dr. Strange Love/etc. Kubrick being Kubrick
  • Braveheart contemporary epic
  • Fistful of Dollars quintessential western
  • Shawshank Redemption classic character driven film
  • Usual Suspects breaks most rules but remains true
  • Dial M for Murder what can you say, it?s Hitchcock
  • The Thin Man being drunk was never so much fun, except at the Raven
  • Unforgiven this is why no one can make westerns anymore
  • Reservoir Dogs a new style of film making is born
  • Dances with Wolves simply a beautiful movie

Just missed:
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl so many aspects of film and film-making done right[
  • RotLA can?t count perfection, it?s the goal, not the mark

The Pulp/Action/Comedy list etc.
(because these aren?t great, but Damn! They?re fun)

Die Hard re-inventing action
Hot Shots! Zucker/Abrams best spoof
Good Will Hunting does smarmy count for anything
Oceans 11 I like the remake, but either one is sleek
Casino FRANKIE!
The Devils Advocate J. Lemkin and T. Gilroy sold their souls on this one
Pay Back (1999) Gibby is a bad guy
Mary Poppins if you knew, I?d be sent to banana island
A Few Good Men How can so many stars, shine so brightly
Thomas Crown Affair This is an artistically beautiful Movie

There are so many movies to consider:

I think it best to consider them in respects to a top 50, 10 in each category:
Top 10
Action/Thriller
Comedy/Spoof
Innovation/Style
Directors/Visionaries

But alas, I didn?t start this thread so I?ll revert to the first 11 lines you read.

I like that, Thanatos...why don't you start your own thread for those? Of course, with a little bit of clarification for what the last two mean...

*awaits head to be chewed off*

Well, whatever you think is better. But the movie's name is still Raiders. And it's Indy and Raiders only on VHS and DVD. In the beginning of the movie it still says Raiders of the Lost Ark.
