Sorry to spoil the party here, but this riddle is not exclusively logical.
I could put ANY letter there, and I could use any kind of logic to justify it.
Why S?? Why not T?? Why not Z?? I could make an argument for any of these solutions.

You see, I was looking for different complex mathematical solutions, when in fact, the solution is simple. Sometimes you look too deep.
