I created another Indy fan trailer. It's rather short and this time it's not in the classic style. Still classy though :)
You may remember the style from somewhere else. It's not typically Indy...Just check it out and hopefully you'll like it :)
PS: Unfortunately the sound is pretty bad.....

How do you do that awesome effect that makes the characters seem to jump out of the picture and into the foreground? That's cool.

Hi guys. Happy you liked it.

The "trick" is basically pretty simple. First you have to divide the character/object from the background (cut it out with a program like photoshop).
Then you fill that cut out part of the background with other background material so that there remains no more hole in it...no empty space...You can do this by using the stamp tool in Photoshop.
Then you use a compositing software...After FX for example. All you need now is your background and the cut out image of the object/character and a virtual animated camera driving towards your imags. You let them be 3d-layers.
Now if you let your background and your object remain in the same position there will be no movement like you see in the video. It would only be like zooming in on the objects. So you have to place the background deeper into the Z position in the "3d world" and then scale that image up to fit the screen again. You can also drag your object closer to the virtual cameras position.
Now all of have too do is let your virtual cam drive towards these too images by using keyframes.....and voila there you go.
Hope I could explain !?!?
