Well at least I now know why my local comic book store didn't have it. They didn't have the Indy Adventures either so I left empty handed.

That's one helluva Rickroll!

I'm gonna have to look around town for Tomb of the Gods. We only have one comic book store here so hopefully they'll have it. I wonder if anyof the bookstores will have it.

wow! i thought i was a bit crazy for comics --- but you guys really are something --- i don't mean it as a bad thing , but some of you expect the book to be released as a graphic novel inweeks after the final issue when anybody who buys dark horse comics know you have to wait at least a year for them to release it collected -i mean i can't wait for the book to come out too but some of you are looking at the artwork saying a girls hair would be up and indy glasses look wrong --- wow!--- well the book comes out this week and i know i will be buying mine i hope the story is good as the other indy books that came out in the 90's which i bought separetly and then bought when they collected them --- yes i too am a comic junkie and as being a star wars and indian jones fan -- i applaud that each of you have your likes and dislikes about the covers and the interior art--- but try and look past that sometimes and just enjoy the story, i do. like i said before i not ragging on you at all but just enjoy what the talented writers and artists have done --- i know i will

There's a new message posted from the new "Indy comic line" editor, Dave Land, over at the "Indy Zone" on the Dark Horse site:

Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Gods!
Updated 7/7/08

A recently concluded thirty-year study by a major medical research university (I won't say WHICH one, but it's MAJOR) found that eight out of every ten people are ADVENTURE DEFICIENT. Yes, shocking, I know . . . Once upon a time you could count on being chased through a jungle by angry tribesmen, or forced to dodge booby traps while stealing precious indigenous cultural icons, or even leaping across gaping chasms to escape fascists on a pretty much daily basis. People were happy, healthy, and brimming with ADVENTURE back then! Now, though? Things just aren't that exciting. Mind-numbing days are filled with long commutes followed by hours spent working in a dead-end job that leads nowhere but the grave. It's a shame, really . . .

But that all ends here and now!

Why, you ask? INDIANA JONES--that's why! Indy has come back to Dark Horse to fill your life with the daily recommended dosage of ADVENTURE. Now you can be there right alongside Indy as he scours the globe looking for mysteries to solve, treasures to plunder, and national socialists to punch in the face! Think of it--excitement will be yours and ADVENTURE will course through your veins (albeit in a nondirect, passive-spectator sort of way, but still . . . )

Don't become just another adventure-deficient zombie! Pick up the current Indiana Jones series, Indiana Jones and the Tomb of the Gods, written by Rob Williams and beautifully illustrated, colored, and lettered by Steve Scott, Nathan Massengill, Michael Atiyeh, and Michael Heisler--with covers by Tony Harris! Your adventure-starved system will thank you for it.

well i just read tomb of the gods , it was okay we learned of a old guy who had a third of a ancient key and that the nazis want it and a mysteriouis woman wants too,( the book felt like it had more pages when i lifted it from the book shelf and i thought cool extra pages --i was wrong some big @ss ad for the sci-fi book club made the book feel heavier) and the story seemed to be over to soon , so i can't wait for the next issue , all in all i was happy with the art, story was just kinda short tho out of four stars i give a three.

Where'd you find it? Bookstore? Comic book store?

I picked this up today at the local comic shop. The art is great -- it's quite an improvement over the old Marvel and Dark Horse Indy comics of yesteryear. And FINALLY, here's an Indy comic that actually knows how to draw Marcus!

Well done.

Finally picked up the comic at a local comic shop. :whip:

The art is very good, the coloring leaves a little to be desired (not bad though).

I'm really excited to see the changes from "Fortune and glory" to "Belongs in a museum" that are supposed to occur to Indy. And the cliffhanger ending was great!

Anybody notice the tentacled creature pic in the cave walls on the last page?

I wonder if that's a nod to "Shrine of the Sea Devil" or a creature Indy is gonna run into in the next few issues...
