Hello, I am new here and was directed to the site by a fellow Rebel Scum member. First off there are some amazing customs here and I have enjoyed lurking for about 10 days waiting for the administrator to approve my membership. I have seen some of the work here in RS forums in the CTR CUSTOMS section and I am looking for a more interactive/interested community. I will comment on individual customs later and will be posting some pics of what I have been working on. For now here is a small preview...:hat:

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I am glad to be a part of this community now. The stone faces are indeed from the temple trap set. As far as any continuity errors, my 6 yr old son and I set this up outside one day. The wind was blowing and figures kept falling over and when we finally got everything like we wanted I noticed the Satchel on the outside of the jacket. We didn't feel like changing it and started snapping photos. It is not a true diorama just random pieces put together to play/photograph figures.

Yesterday while I was out treasure hunting I found this awesome Geisha statue at Ross for $6. I am trying to decide what to do with it. Leave it as is, lightly weather it over existing paint, repaint more colorful then weather, or make it all one color (Tan) and weather it with broken pieces, etc. Any feedback would be great, I would love to hear other ideas of how to make this fit in to an environment. I will make a room, background for it to reside in and other than that I'm not sure yet. I have noticed several similar statues but not this exact one in the background of many sets from the films. So here are a few pics with what my son calls the bad Indy.

While lurking I noticed someone looking for parts to make a deep sea Indy. I have most of the generic Big Lots figures and took pics of this...

it looks big because there are 2 tabs holding it up from his shoulders that need to be cut off. I have done that since these pics and it lines up perfectly to his face. I think this idea was from a comic, does anyone have a pic?

Welcome to The Raven, Luke. Nice, Peru set-up there and I love Satipo's pack. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!:hat:
Here are some images of Deep Sea/Underwater Indy:

"Shrine of the Sea Devil" (He wears this gear for 95% the story. The rope goes throughs the two loops on his front plate.)

Luke,

Awesome work on the Sapito/Barranca customs!! Really great job and the display is fantastic. Great, great stuff!

Regarding the Ganesh statue, I think you should paint it a flat gray color or something similar to make it look like stone. Would make another groovy display.

Excellent work, as always!!

Thanks for the info stoo. That would be such an easy custom. Fire Speeder pilot SW ROTS, Indy head, Mustafar Miner figure that came with the bucket and long stick grabber thing, anyway his feet. Then just a few grebies/ weight belt and rope. I may do this, just not sure how to handle the color scheme as I would want it to have a more real world look.

Lance- Thanks, and that is exactly what I have been thinking. Either tan or grey and really old, crumbling pieces things like that. I like this photo I found from TOD, see the statue in the background?

Awesome group of customs!!! The pictures are terrific and the jungle diorama is outstanding!

Fantastic work on Belloq, too. Just wonderful work all around!!!

Are those Schleich trees I see in the corner of the jungle dio? Yow, those are expensive!! :)

Yeah, definitely give Ganesha that crumbling old statue look, will be great for displays!

Fantastic all around!!! Good luck with Diver Indy!

Thanks Lance, I have seen a few people have these trees in backgrounds for about 2 yrs now. I have wanted a few since then, I saw them in a wal mart 1 hr out of town and got 1 set for $12. I was i the area a month later and they were on clearance for $5 and I picked up 3 sets. I don't think they are from the company you are talking about. They are a generic jungle pack with the tree, a pride rock like rock and a small pond.

I would like to see a Power of the Ark Pack with a Belloq that splits in half with the push of a button on it's back, a dried-out Dietrich, and a melting Toht. That would be so cool!

Man... I love seeing the work people do on these small figures.. I have a box of about 45 Indy figures in this scale that I bought with the intent to do custom work... but I just do not have the time.. ( probably 15 or 20 are just Indy figures)... I need to just dump them off on ebay at this point ! you guys are knocking out some fantastic work though..

They could totally use the "flipping head" action figures that were used with the old power ranger toys.

There could be flames attached to the bottom of Belloq's head so that when it flies off it looks as if it has exploded.

Two More Customs and a Challenge

Hey guys, I've got two more customs to share with you. I only managed to get these two done before I left home for work out of state. I'm gonna share these with you then I have a bit of a proposition for all you nutty Indy customizers out there...

First up is ol' Marcus Brody as he appears in Raiders. Sorry for the low light. When I get back home, I'll take better pics.

<a href="http://s559.photobucket.com/albums/ss36/dr_bergsan/?action=view&current=IMG_1154.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss36/dr_bergsan/IMG_1154.jpg" border="0" alt="Marcus Brody ROTLA"></a>

Second is Dean Stanforth from Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

<a href="http://s559.photobucket.com/albums/ss36/dr_bergsan/?action=view&current=IMG_1156.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i559.photobucket.com/albums/ss36/dr_bergsan/IMG_1156.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

So here is my challenge: I have made a list of the figs that I want to make in the coming months, but I'm not going to be able to for a while as I have none of my customizing equipment with me. I know that one of the biggest challenges of being a customizer is finding the right parts to create an accurate representation of a character. So I'm going to post my list of figs that I plan to build, and I want people to start making them before I get to them. I wanna see how you solve the problems that we all face. I wanna see your spark of brilliance that inspires you to make these figures one of a kind and special. Some of them are ones that people have already made, and pretty well I might add, but there is always room for improvement and innovation. Lord knows I am always revisiting a custom when I learn a new technique to make them better. And hell, this is just fun which is why we do it anyway, right.

So here is the list. They are fairly minor characters, but they will nicely round out a pretty swell, albeit, anemic collection first given to us by Hasbro. And remember this is a list of ones that I was planning to do so some of them have already shown up on this site. Good luck, and I can't wait to see what shows up:whip:

Has anyone got a good head suggestion for Mr H in Berlin?

Jones Jr, I made some Hovitos using the Ugha warriors. Some of those Hovitos look more well-fed though, so there is still room to re-visit with a bulkier look!

I'm praying for some sun this coming weekend so I can photograph some Raven bar goodies for you (and everyone else).

Jr Jones - Great job on Marcus, is that the Harry Potter jacket? Dean Stanforth looks great as well. He is at the end of my want list but I knew the Palpatine head would look great for him. I see you have a long list of figures to make, some very cool ones on there.

Nick Turner - do you have a photo for us of the Berlin scene?

I have been busy working on a soft goods Satipo with new details on the ripped shirt and finishing his pack...

No Berlin scene I'm afraid. I do want to do an AH and Indy, but I'm not sure what to use for a Fuhrer head. Dang a uniformed Elsa would be nice :D Lotsa other possibilities from this scene :whip:

BTW, what's the wrestler going to be?

Great customs, Berg San!

The marcus is awesome, probably the best I've seen. Excellent job!

I bought one of those Anakin figures months ago, I need to get off my ass and get cracking on a custom.

Terrific work, as usual!
