what is it with vampires being romantic?

By my faith! Can we stay on the discussion of Vampires? After all this in the month of October and we ALL know what the 31st of October is or do we?

Back on topic people. Please, I've had enough of this. I thought this thread was about Vampires and not XXX. Please guys lets discuss the beauty of Twilight and the horror of the Vampire's Apprentice.

Why are you posting those homo pictures of boys looking longingly? (nice quick edit...that was wise) Cripes!
You want to harpoon the Porn thread, (PUNS!) and now you want to suppress free speech! No wonder you don't like Fascist Killer Captain America!
I bet HE likes Porn! Well maybe not...

Of course I know what porn is! You better not say anything els about my parents! You don't know my family. I consider sex and porn the same its all sick and the same gos for Vampires and and that horrid Twiilight, our society does not need to see sex everytime we sit down to watch a movie or a book or anything els for that matter.

Oh, I think I'm going to be SICK or worse! X.X x.x X.X

Sex and porn are two differnt things, sweetie.

We can't sheild children from everything. If we sheilded kids from everything, they'll grow up sheltered. I am surpised we havn't reverted back to the darkages.

It's nothing like Twilight. It's a great 80's movie and a classic to me. It even has my favorite Doors' song!

Well thats very good then. Is it a vampire film, I'm going to say this I'm not a fan of Vampires, I guess thats why I speak against Vampires.

Hey guys I just scared my brother, telling him a Vampire was behind him and he fell for it, and he ran in the bathroom :D I'm still laughing.

(NOTE I'm not against anyone who enjoys watching Vampire movies!)

Yes, it's about vampires.
I'm not a fan of vampires either. I always thought they were boring, but The Lost Boys is a good movie.
I always liked zombies or demonic beings in my horror movies (The Evil Dead, Hellraiser, Pumpkin Head, Night of the Living Dead, etc).

Agent Crab and LonsomeDrifter I'd simply like to ask if either of you have seen or actually read Twilight?

Nope, I never seen the movie or read the book. Why?

But the Coreys, Jason Patric, ugh!

Bill, or was it Ted? Never liked Kiefer, and Jaimie Gurtz(sp?) is always a whiner...in like, you know, like EVERY role!

I mean Edward Hermann ok...and the Grandfather sure. Too much of the 80's crappy fads: Mullets, boys with dangling earings, bad sunglasses, bandanas.

I liked the whole holy water gun thing...eh.

Well...I was just wondering.

I think if you've seen or read and enjoyed other Christian allegories like Pilgrim's Progress, The Magician's Nephew, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Hobbit or The Lord of the Rings Trilogy that you will without failure find The Twilight Saga to be captivating and beautiful beyond measure.

It's jam packed with spiritual messages and as a Christian I've always been interested in Christian authors and allegorical tales like The Chronicles of C.S. Lewis and the writings of JRR Tolkien.

When I began reading about Twilight and discovered it's origin in the Garden of Eden and that the Twilight Saga was rooted and grounded in Genesis 2:17 and the Forbidden Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and that it was a story of the power of Pure Love to transform a "monster" into something beautiful and that it was a parable of faith, love and the virtues of sexual abstinence and spiritual purity I was overwhelmed with excitement.

I think that if you and Agent Crab and others were to take with you your wives/girlfriends to a coffee shop or Church Book Club and settled down with a hot cup of warm fuzzies and cuddle up with a copy of Twilight, read it, digest it, then read the book I Kissed Dating Goodbye by Joshua Harris and Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship also by Mr. Harris and then digest it and then view the movie Twilight you'll be blessed with a whole new world view and find yourselves enjoying the Twilight Saga like never before.

As I said earlier part of the reason that I think Twilight has become so successful and is become such a part of peoples lives is because so many people can actually relate to it.

I think the reason that young adult women and teenage girls find a Fortress of Solitude of sorts in The Twilight Saga is because they suffer abuse from abusive men in their lives and find them as being a kind of "Vampire" in their life and hope to (like Bella Swan) bring the good out of them and help their troubled (like Edward Cullen) husbands/boyfriends overcome the "monster" inside of them and in the same process find true love as opposed to lust and at last have that happily ever after that so many of us desire and yet never have.

Dude, the Coreys were awesome in this movie. Granted their other movies sucked however. (Besides License To Drive)
All of the 80's fads was what made this film a classic. And, I never was a huge fan of Kiefer either, but he was badass in this and Stand By Me.

Redeemed: The reason why I never watched the Twilight movie or read the books is because vampires bore me.

...Performed by Echo & The Bunnymen.:p Roger Daltrey (from The Who) does an Elton John:sick: cover on that soundtrack. Anyway, I did not like "The Lost Boys" at all. Poor Corey Haim.

"Love at First Bite" (1979) - Susan Saint James to Richard Benjamin (her psychiatrist): "Get a load of this hickie he gave me."

The bible thumpers on this board should watch "The Fearless Vampire Killers" (aka "Dance of the Vampires") because it was directed by & stars everyone's favourite person, Roman Polanski!

Alright I'm with you on that one, he plays a competent dick! The sole Corey was alright in that one two...hmmm, if it's on the page...
