After I saw this episode for the first time, suddenly it seemed as thought Spall was in every other movie I saw...Harry Potter, Sweeny Todd, Enchanted, Room with a View...the man is everywhere!
TC
Yes, yes he is!!! I wondered if I misspelled his last name:P. But it's nice, he has such a distinctive look to him!!!!
So, you picked a generic, LEGO head? Oh, well...like you said, "Diff'rent Strokes"!
No, a truly generic LEGO head would be yellow and lack Indy's stubble and chin scar (yeah, I'm conceptualizing the line under his mouth as the scar, and not just a contour line for the underside of his lip - hey, it's Indy!).
What I'd like to do is go through all my favorite avatars here, including all the photographic ones of the man himself in sequence, but that means starting with the youngest, and I'm kind of wondering whether the forum gods here will add one of the infant Indy seen in the new footage at the beginning of "My First Adventure" (though if they choose not to do that on the grounds of not wanting to help legitimize the revision of ... Chronicles into Adventures of..., that's cool with me, too, even though I also have to admit I don't completely object to all of the reconfigurations). Meanwhile, I'm going with this one as my initial avatar, just because LEGO is cool, and I've wanted Indy LEGO a long time.
Mmmm SPF Legos...lol. I am not a big toy collector or a Lego buyer, but I want the set with Henry Sr just to play with the Sean Connery Lego. It cracks me up.

They should make a LEGO set for The Red Baron, with a little LEGO plane you can build for him.

I could totally get into that. And Indy could have his bike from Verdun and wear that cool outfit and have his face all smudged. Hehe. If I do get Indy Legos, they are going on my Indy bookshelves. I had to sell some books to give him some precedence.
I'm not going to Wal-Mart because it is the Evil Empire. Don't fall to the Dark Side!
Maybe I should make a custom Young Indy Lego. My brother has an old Technic biplane and I'm sure there's an aviator's helmet from one of the Johnny Thunder sets...maybe another plane, too...I have a motorcycle...
Oh dear. I've just given myself another epic idea to build. Young Indy in Legos. I can't do another epically huge thing like Middle-Earth -that ended up being almost 4 foot square.

LOL!!!!!! You need to go work on Robot Chicken, lol. I think they did a version of Young Indy at one point, but I'm having trouble remembering it.
It'd be fun to make a Young Indy (or any Indy) Ken doll. Mwahaha.

Johnny Thunder!!! Yes! That was before we had the luxury of actual Indy LEGO sets, but they were pretty darn awesome even aside from the obvious Indy influences...I had almost all of those sets, and I'd sit and play for hours (inbetween watching the trilogy on VHS and checking Young Indy books out of the library)...man, those were the days...

Nice to see I'm not the only one here who has issues with Wal-Mart. Perhaps I shouldn't be so dogmatic, but I'm just not a fan of the effect they have, and I stopped shopping there a long time ago even though I frankly probably should in order to make the most of my paychecks.

Yeah, I think most kids realized Johnny Thunder was a total Indy ripoff. I'd always snag Johnny Thunder and put a girl's head on him, which really bothered my brother. I was annoyed by Gail Storm and her "makeup face" and I thought, why should boys have all the fun?
Jenny Thunder! (though she usually has black hair.)
By the way, Best Buy has Volume 3 on sale right now for $69.99. The other volumes currently are $89.

As a character, Johnny didn't exactly stray far from his Indy roots (although he eventually became Australian rather than American) but the set designs for the first and fouth waves were some of LEGO's best...I was looking at the largest Crystal Skull set in Wal-Mart today, and it just couldn't hold a torch to the Pharoah's Forbidden Ruins. Sorry Indy; it's not your fault!
Wal-mart doesn't bug me. I mean they have customer-service issues, but you can't hate a company for being successful! That's how capitalism works.
Besides, Target is mostly owned by the French now if I'm not mistaken. I'd rather be putting money back into the U.S.
Target has never been owned by anyone other then the US. And their headquarters are still downtown here. You can't drive 5 miles without bumping into a store. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/target.asp
I still go to Wal Mart but it's usually harder to get to. And they don't have the Young Indy dvd's. And Wal Mart has been doing better as far as philanthropy and taking care of their workers over the years, you just don't hear about it much.
