Great transcription!. That's precisely what Indy chants later after drinking the blood of Khali. Any idea anyone on what does that mean?. Also, does anyone know what do they chant before that, right when Indy, Willie and Shorty enter the temple?. I can only figure out something like "Shigram Shigram", right at the end of the first verse we hear, but what about before that?.

Apologies for necroposting, but I've always wanted to know the translations (and transliterations) of the Cantonese that is spoken.

I second this request! Surely someone here must speak Chinese?

This thread has answered quite a few of my questions, not to mention the translations are far better than what I would have come up with. Fascinating stuff.(y)

A portion of dialogue not covered in this thread so far...When Indy & Co. are first mounting the elephants in Mayapore with SAJNU as the lead guide.

---
James Kahn novelization:
Indiana called down to Willie's guide: "Sajnu, imanadu."

And Sajnu yelled up at Willie, "Aiyo nona, oya pata nemei!" Then he yelled at her elephant.

*3 short paragraphs later...*

"All right, let's go," Indy called down to the guides. "I want to get there before tomorrow night."

---
Suzanne Weyn junior novelization:
Indiana gave the lead guide the signal to move out.

---
IN THE FILM:
It sounds like Harrison says "San-Joo, Man-eh-doo."

Similar to the recently debunked Satipo/Sapito thing, it seems as if Indy has trouble pronouncing people's names because (to these ears) he says, "Sanju" instead of "Sajnu".

I could do that since I speak German. I'll re-watch Crusade and then make a thread if no one else beats me to it...(saw that there are quite a few German speakers here...)
I also speak German too. ;)

I've noticed there are translators that you can find online. PROMT is one example. I just tried a site that you can apparently translate from Hindi to English. Going to try a couple more and post what I find out here.

Found these here:

when Mola Ram orders Indy and Short Round to be whipped:
"maro maro suar ko, chamdi neecho peelo koon"
"strike and strike that pig again! Tear his skin and drink his blood!".

When Mola Ram is about to pull out the sacrifice-guy's heart:
"Bali mangthi Kali Ma! Shakti degi Kali ma! Kali Ma! Kali Ma, Shakti Deh!"
"Mother Kali wants a sacrifice! Mother Kali will give us power! Mother Kali! Mother Kali, give us power!"

Indy telling his elephant guides to stop
"Abhi Roko!"
"Stop for now!"

Elephant guide freaking out at the Kali statue:
"Vinasya! Maha vinasya!"
"Protect us! God protect us!"

When Mola Ram is hanging off the bridge
"Mere sipayos! Isko patheerda chalao!"
"My soldiers! Fire arrows at him!"

"You betrayed Shiva! Thum Shiva Ke Vishwasth Karthe Ho! You betrayed Shiva!"
"You betrayed Shiva! You believe in Shiva! You betrayed Shiva!"
Thank you very much for the translation. :) I always wondered what those phrases meant. ;)

Faleel, where did you get this from (and the rest of it)? I'm pretty sure it is:

"Mola Ram, Suddh Ram"
thus
"Mola Beautiful God, Pure Beautiful God"

In high school, one of my good friends was a beautiful Indian girl named, Sudha. (She's a doctor now.) Back then, she told me that Sudha means "pure" (among other things). Her name is the feminine form of "suddh".

The puzzle is: What does "Mola" mean?

Mola Ram's 1st attempt to pour the "Blood of Kali" into Indy's mouth:

Sorry for not answering this for so long but, I got this from a guy who studied the score intensely and ,made a complete score edit, I believe he got the "lyrics" from the the Conductor's Scores.

More Indy Hindi...

Can anyone tell me what these two phrases mean (sorry for spelling; most likely incorrect just going off sounds...)

"Jal-Man Jaldi Karo"

I hear the slave keepers yelling this as they whip the children working in the mines, so I am assuming it means something like "get back to work" or "get working now" I don't know???

Next, and I'm sure this has been covered so my apolgies, what does this mean?

MOLA RAM SUDA-RAM???:D

Okay, we have what Mola Ram was chanting translated here, with the exception of the last part which reads:

Kali ma shukti dei...bali jahow degi aghe...

tears heart out...

What does that last little phrase mean in english "bali jahow degi aghe???"

Other than that i remember amrish puri saying balli charhao, that means make the sacrifice. Jaldi Karo by the big thugee means hurry up, and I can't remember any other lines.
