Nothing in that trailer worked for me. It felt like a spot for an upcoming episode, not something for the big screen.

I think I'm tired of the whole "baiting" aspect of this franchise, usually talking in vague tones and always seeming more excited about it than one has a right to be when they do so....

Glad to see I'm not the only one disappointed in the new trailer! I'm excited as all get-up for this movie (there's a reason there's an "xf" in my username) but that trailer just felt really lacking. 6 years of waiting, and I feel a bit let down by it...

X-Files: IWTB is going to feel like another lame episode of the series.

Anyone still excited for this movie besides me? Admittedly, the more I see, the less good it seems but just having Fox and Scully back together again is enough for me.

Looks better than the first film, at any rate.

Just tell all the Indy 4 apologists to go see a movie that actually deserves to have a UFO in it, and it should do just fine.

Hahaha! Just be thankful Chris Carter didn't decide to have Mulder and Scully go off to hunt for King Solomon's Mines!!!

Right George?

...I'd say "prease to have X-Files Christmas Special"? But we've kinda already had a couple of episodes like that.

Well, since we have nothing new to chat about, can we talk X-Files in general?

Favorite episodes? I always preferred the MOTW ones.

Ice
Bad Blood
Firewalker
Irresistible
Triangle
How The Ghosts Stole Christmas
Arcadia
Orison

I think those are my favorites. It varies but BB, HtGSC, and Ice are always on there.

Those were a lot of my faves, as well. I really loved "Unruhe" because it scared the snot out of me. The ones that scared me the most were the ones where the paranormal aspect was less (and thus the likelihood of something like that really happening was higher). I was also a shameless MSR fan, so I loved any of the 'shippy episodes, although I Hate (yes, with a capital H) how CC played their relationship out in the end. Fanfic authors did it better and more in-character.

I also really loved:
Post-Modern Prometheus
The Unnatural
Hollywood AD
Essence/Existence
Requiem
Detour
Small Potatoes

...and "Sunshine Days," just for the total absurdity of the whole episode.

Haha!

Well it seems Im in a minority who loved all of the X-Files not just the early seasons. I wouldn't call myself a "fan" as such. I wouldn't bother going to see X-Files 2 in the cinema but Im still looking forward to it. I just can't see how they can top the series perfect ending. Hope they don't ruin it.

Yeah, I caught that on TV the other day. I try not to pre-judge but this is looking really mediocre. Enjoyable but ultimately forgettable, like the countless other suspense films each year.

Here's a higher quality version of the commercial for those who care.

Also, it's weird how Duchovny hardly looks any older yet Anderson seems to have aged overnight. Still hot, though.

Anderson addressed such issues in a recent interview...

http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/en...00/7410196.stm

"David [Duchovny], who's in the best shape of his life because he had to bonk people every two minutes for Californication, did most of the work."

I have been rewatching all of the episodes on dvd. Getting ready for the big day. I just really can't express how excited I am. This movie is like a dream come true.

It's weird, me and the X Files. When the show was on the air, I was huge nerd. Never missed an episode, watched it in syndication many times afterwards, and loved the first film.

For reasons I have absolutely no explanation for, I'm not interested in this new film. I'll watch it on cable, but I can't imagine I'll be bothering with the theater.

I think like most non-X-Files fans the film looks good, but since I'm not a fan, I'm not overly drawn to it. Pity it comes out July 25 though, TDK will be in its second week and I really doubt this is gonna take it down.

Waiting in anticipation for The X-Files: I Want to Believe! I'm going to see at midnight. I love the X-Files and this has been over due just like Indiana Jones. I just hope it does good enough to warrant sequels.

'This film has been kept secretive because nobody knows what to do with it. It's so utterly awful, that it's probably a better idea that we pretend it didn't happen, because when we all come to make our Worst of 2008 lists, I doubt we'll even remember this one came out.'

X-Files: IWTB and KOTCS can duke it out for worst picture, I'll be seeing TDK again. And again. And again...
