With the Mark Twain circling Tom Sawyer's island at Disneyland for 60 years, it's inevitable the studio will take another crack at feature films. Huck is required American lit worldwide despite the 219 N-words. Stephen Sommers cast a couple of tween heartthrobs in the 1990s with modest success. Before that, musicals for screen and stage.

The Selznick 1938 version made a spectacle of the cave finale, and inspired the howls inside Injun Joe's Cave. If ever there was a chance to tunnel under the Rivers of America, it would be now...
After entering a crypt near the Mansion (NOT the riverfront archway) you would tunnel through a series of secret chambers lined with skeletal victims of pirate/privateer Jean Lafitte. you would eventually emerge into the hold of a buried ship on Tom Sawyer Island, and ascend to the surface there. Fort Wilderness would be replaced with another, capsized ship, full of treasure, covered with foliage and serving as a pirate hideout on the island.
