I've never used a metal detector, and I haven't watched the video, as it's asking me to download something.

However, if this is the story I think it is, then it's one that's been covered by our local news stations. There has been a campaign to raise enough money to keep the hoard in this area, and when it went on display people were queuing for hours to see it.

It really was an amazing find, so much high quality worked gold.

The link didn't show me the story directly, so I couldn't read anything. In any regard, I believe you're talking about treasure hunter Terry Herbert's discovery last summer. It's rather old news, though fascinating, and here is a very detailed article about the find and the historic relevance of the artifacts:
