Seriously, I think Marion was well used to handling her drink, and it's after effects. I'm sure she felt it, but not like most people her size would have. You can get used to it.

I also think an individual's metabolism might play a role with hangovers. My mother was about her size, and she could drink my grandfather under the table when she was in her twenties. Little to no hang-over, according to her, and she wasn't even a hard drinker!

The secret is to drink enough to wake up kind of drunk the next day, which I'm sure her character does/did. Works for me, anyway.
