Having someone other than Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman is like
having someone other than Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.

Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman

Though I know very little about the actress, apparently the pilot script is awful.

The theme song from the 1st season in '76 kicks butt! I can listen to it over and over...

"In your satin tights, fighting for your rights and the old red, white & blu-u-u-u-ue...."

"Stop a bullet cold! Make the Axis fold!"

There are 3 versions of the Season 1 theme. The 1st link is the original and the 2nd has different lead vocals. The 3rd is a different mix and has different lyrics. Crank up your volume and play them LOUD!

Check out this absolutely ridiculous pilot test from 1967, with Ellie Wood Walker as Wonder Woman:

PM me that MP3.

I'm currently at a workstation that prohibits 'streaming media'. But I can receive files.

I remember coming home from Little League and hearing it start as I made a dinner plate of left overs!

Let's not forget the 1974 pilot with Cathy Lee Crosby and Khan himself, the suave villain Ricardo Montalban. It was a welcome sight on the ABC 4:30 movie along with the occasional Planet of the Apes week and James Mason's Journey to the Center of the Earth...(Gerdy!).

Cheesy yes, but Ricardo Montalban was the first "Belloq style" villain I remember!

Okay, I admit.

I have partaken of the forbidden fruit that was the '70s Wonder Woman.

Mostly I recall Lynda Carter deflecting bullets with her golden braclets.

And her cleavage.

Yeah. Mostly her cleavage.

Wonder Woman TV Series

Well, not to clutter up poor Captain America's thread anymore, here's a thread for the new Wonder Woman series coming (potentially) to NBC.

The script sucks.

But the costume has been (mostly) fixed!

Thanks for the pictures.
The improved costume looks way better than the first version. On the other hand, these pictures where taken in some very bad moments. Some impressions on the faces look so embarrassing

Whoops. I'm embarrassed that I started a new thread, forgetting that I even went and commented in the old one!

Thanks for the merge.

Yeah, still pictures during action moments are SELDOM flattering!

Hell, her expression in the first "official" photo was crap, too.

I do, however, question the wisdom of setting a scene on Hollywood Blvd. in front of Grauman's.

The suit may be better, but it's really only slightly better than those worn by the crappy tourist trap characters that populate the area.

She really doesn't look happy being forced to wear that costume!

Wonder Woman on TV was always high camp, so presumably this series isn't going to take itself too seriously.

A light-hearted approach would indeed be the best way to go.

Well she is running with purpose. Not running to pose and look glam.

I've been following this and am cautiously optimistic about it. I'm glad that after that first publicity photo they changed the material of the pants and made the boots red, from blue, like they always should've been.

There's a cartoon about somewhere showing Superman flying alongside the invisible jet, and Wonder Woman's sitting on the toilet in the back of the jet!

If this upcoming Wonder Woman TV show is anything like NBC's The Cape and abc's No Ordinary Family then you can rest assured I'll be watching this and downloading it from PSN and iTunes for keeps.

Now that was just cold, plain cold downright cold Lance.

What's wrong with The Cape? It was great. It was also the nicest run for a comic book style hero on NBC since Michelle Ryan's Bionic Woman.

Hmm...you didn't enjoy The Cape?

My intention was not to insult you, but rather those horrid, horrid, HORRID shows.

I am sorry if I caused offence.

No worries Lance. I was just being sarcastic. However, I don't see how you'd dislike The Cape or No Ordinary Family.

The Cape is like one of the best things on television along with the BBC's Doctor Who Series 5, Marvel's The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Cartoon Network/DC Comics hit series Young Justice.
