Who else thinks Twilight sucks?

My girlfriend wants to say something about Twilight. This isnt me.

/taps mcirophone Is it on?
Basically, I started reading Twilight, never really finished, kind of skimmed through the ending, and then put it down with disgust and flushed my brain down the toilet. It's a piece of s**t wasted on innocent trees and taking up space of good literature, like Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire (in the case of the latter, GREAT literature). Stephanie Meyers needs to get her computer. typewriter, notebooks, whatever taken away from her and needs to just crawl in a hole and shut the hell up. Pansy vampires and pedo werewovles does not a great book series make.

Sorry for the rant everone but she really hates Twilight. Good night and Good luck

I don't assume all Twilight fans are "retarded" fans. I know a couple of sane fans, as well as those who squeal over Edward. I used to be a sane fan myself, but now I'm an all-out hater.

How can you be a fan of something, and then just hate on it all of a sudden.

Because when I looked back on my reading experience with the books, I realized how badly it sucked. I had to force myself to read Twilight and New Moon all the way through. Eclipse and Breaking Dawn were better, but like the other books they had plot problems.
The only reason I wanted to read the series was to figure out its secrets of success, but seeing as the only secret to Twilight's success was due to every single page describing Edward's sparkly abs, I was rather disappointed. I guess I could say I was a sane fan for the first 50 pages of Twilight, then a neutral, then I went back to a sane fan for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, and when I looked back on my reading experience I started hating it. (And reading all the brainless fangirls' hatemail helped.)

Yet screaming.. "I HAET TWILIGHT!" and acting like a douche is no differnt from the fangirls.

Ignore 'em. Pretend Twilight isn't real.

Alright.
Maybe you're right, Agent Crab. But I will still remain a loyal member of TwilightSucks.Com, and I just can't pretend that something isn't real when it, no matter how much I hate to acknowledge it, is.

The think is...

No one gives a damn if you dislike it or not. Peopel do get annoyed when they ehar. "TWILIGHT SUCKS!" and stomp around with a picket sighn. Same thing I said to a rabid Megaman fangirl who littery lives, breaths, eats and ****s Megaman.

Just act like Twilight don't exist. People will grow more annoyed as you proclaim your dying hatred for it. I hate Disgaea, but I been ignoring it. Disgaea fans are bad as Twilight fans in a sense.

As a very active Christian I've always been interested in Christian authors and allegorical tales like The Chronicles of C.S. Lewis, Lord of the Rings and Pilgrim's Progress.

I had not actually noticed the Twilight Saga until the middle of last year I heard on NPR that the Twilight Saga had it's origins in the Garden of Eden and was drawn from Genesis 2:17 and the Forbidden Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and that it was a story of the power of Pure Love to transform a "monster" into something beautiful and that it was a parable of faith, love and the virtues of sexual abstinence and spiritual purity.

I don't understand why some of you guys keep on bashing up on something so Spiritually enlightening and enriching. I could see if it was some hogwash like Supernatural or Desperate Housewives or Drawn Together.

Remember guys don't "judge a book by it's cover." I would like to point out that judging something based on the rumors and untruth's that other's spread is just the same as judging a book by it's cover.

The young people of today need something to steer them away from the sexual perversion and pornographic snares of our world today and it seems to me that we should all give The Twilight Saga the appreciation it merits for trying to lead youth and young adults into a more morally sound direction regarding moral purity and true love.

I haven't read any of the books nor seen the film, if they ever show it on HBO I might take a look, but beyond that I have no plans to see it at all. But from what I have seen and heard from it, it basically looks like trite. Let me just say that in the past 20 years, vampires have become one of the most overused plot elements in fiction especially in romance stories, and I'm sick of it. If I never see another vampire again in a fictional story, it will be too soon. I have no idea why the masses keep spending their money to view and read this garbage. Now I understand that there is a sexual connotation to the vampire, from what I heard Bram Stoker wrote Dracula as a metaphor for venereal disease, but seriously enough is enough. And if anybody has the urge to view anything even associated with vampires, please let it be FW Murnau's Nosferatu, or Bela Lugosi's version of Dracula.

I am not trying to start anything with you, but you contradict yourself a bit here.
You have stated before that you will not read the Harry Potter saga because of it's subject matter. How is that any different from what you just told us not to do?

Harry Potter HAS nothing to do with Christianity. Nor does Harry Potter have any thing to do with Morality, Love or Abstinence or Sexual Purity. Harry Potter is witchcraft, sorcery and devilish. Now if one cannot understand that then I know not what to say. Holy Scripture forbids sorcery and witchcraft of all kind.

Furthermore J.K. Rowling denies belief in God. Stephanie Meyer's has acknowledged God, her personal faith and has repeatedly stressed that The Twilight Saga points youth back to the Bible, especially the first three chapters of Genesis and The Garden of Eden.

BTW here are some quotes that I got from Google.

"Those who follow the path of the magic arts are on the wrong path - a road that leads away from God, not toward Him. In one way or another, the end will be disaster. The evil Queen Jezebel practiced witchcraft (2 Kings 9:22) bringing catastrophe on herself and all Israel. Over and over, God denounces those who “conjure spells” (NKJV) and those who practice witchcraft and sorcery. The Bible says that anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12; 2 Kings 21:6; Micah 5:12; Isaiah 47:12; Ezekiel 13:18, 20; Acts 8:11-24; Leviticus 20:27; Exodus 7:11; Revelation 9:21; 22:15)."

"God warns of the ultimate punishment. Revelation 21:8 says of "…those who practice witchcraft …their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur… the second death" (NIV). Those who practice witchcraft (sorcery) will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:20-21). These practices are anti-God and are in rebellion against Him.

Many of citizens of ancient Ephesus practiced witchcraft. Those who became Christians realized the foolish error of their former lives and burned their expensive books of magic as the trash they were (Acts 19:19)
."

But, all of the anime that you watch has magic in it. What's the difference?
I'm not starting anything - But, I don't understand how you can say in one post not to judge a book by it's cover and not to believe rumors, and yet you believe the things you have heard about Harry Potter.

Now, you know why some people will not read Twilight. Maybe it's the same reason you won't read Harry Potter?
I know what the bible says. But, I honestly don't think it a sin to read a book. But, I'm cool with you not reading it. But, why say everyone else is judging Twilight when you are doing the same thing?

Just because I read a book does not mean I will go out and do the things that are in it.

Well Lonsome Drifter I'm not going to judge you as I like you and consider you to be a very nice person. However there is a difference, a big difference, yes, even a wide chasm between Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft and Christian allegories like Pilgrim's Progress, Alice in Wonderland, The Chronicles of Narnia, Bridge to Terabithia, Twilight and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

While the latter point to Christ the former leads alway in deception. Furthermore I am not basing my beliefs on rumor or speculation. I have both seen and read the first three installments in the Harry Potter Saga and I had to put them down and wash my mind because of all the ungodliness and hidden occultism contained therein.

Furthermore I don't watch or read the following manga/anime: Bleach, Death Note, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Pokemon, Bakugan, YuYu, Shaman King, Disgaea and Hikaru no Go because of their ungodly and witchcraft based content.

Let's just agree to disagree.
Like I said you are free to read or not read whatever you want. I'm not going to get upset at you or anyone else.
I like you also. We just have conflicting views on things. But, that is what makes the world an interesting place, no?

EDIT: I wish my wife would start signing out of her damn account before I get on here. This is Lonsome Drifter and not KiKi_Kat
