I'm SO buying that! :whip:

I imagine we'll also get full scale replicas of all the relics and idols features in the Indy films. Someone has to make them.

Sideshow if were lucky.

Maybe.Not Today said:
Could be.and wouldn't that be awesome..

or are these more in scale to be used with 12" figures..either way, looks like a must have to me

You can see the head of one of there 7" scale female figures in one pic so its in scale w/ 7" stuff.

BTW, it would have been really nice to see the Cross of Coronado thrown in there too. But I can't complain too much, we're getting the Shankara stones! I totally thought they'd be skipped over. :hat:

Sank, not Shank, were not stabbing prisoners with them. ;)

Excuse me for the typo. Your post did make me laugh though. I can't help but picture Mola Ram in the slammer holding a flaming bar of soap.

Very nice! What I like is the coiled whip,It'll look nice under the 7inch Indy's bag!(y)

I thought that myself, Also they should give the hat a looser pinch like CS or LC so we have 2 differant hats for Indy.

But a lot of the new Disney figure selling so well, has to do with the new film coming out! Die-hard collectors are the ones paying $30-60 on eBay, not moms and dads for their kids.

I'm just really skeptical that kids will want to have figures of obscure Indy characters, that aren't very play-worthy! I mean what 6 year old wants a Marcus Brody, Belloq, Monkey Man, Arab Swordsman, Chattar Lal, Wu Han, Maharaja, Lao Che, Donovan, Captain Blumburtt, etc.. Die-hard completist collectors, absolutely... but little kids...I'm not so sure!

You're right, there is not a lack of demand. But that demand is coming once again from serious collectors, who don't make up enough of the market to make a line this extensive profitable. Little kids have to be factored into this, and that's where the serious money will come from.

Metalinvader, the TOD line by LJN was really tough to find back in the day, not to mention there was only 3 figures...that's it!

the truth of the matter was with the 1st series Indy figure 9 which is the one we are discussing) Mom's and Dads were paying for those figures at the parks....so much so that disney had Hasbro create a second series. The 1st edition figure has been selling for that much since when it was released. It was a GREAT example of the demad that was there for Indy figures.

Have fith tha twhen you make enough Indy's for every Kid who wants one, they WILL want the obscure characters to paly out their adventures with. Sure Marcus Brody and the females will be hard sells..However, hasbro fixes that by not making as many of them. Thus their greater value.

the TOD line sold VERY well...JLN just as not ready to meet hthe demand and in some cses Indy was only one per case or the case had 2 sets only. Then stores could NOT re-order because of short supply. That's why a complet LJN Indy costs so much now...People still need that one.. even Big time collectors. Why did that set ( which was action feature oriented ) need more than the 3 characters? Had there been enough figures, they could have sold those figures for 2 years. female and kid figures were not big in the 80's EVER.....Not until the 90's when these weird female character only collectors started coming intothe hobby did female figures get true value.

Do not underestimate the marketingthat is going to make kids WANT to play with this line...the kid friendly figures are NOT going to be as limited as the collector based figures.. so, when you see a figure you like.. you better get it...Hasbro may not go back too many times with the Indy line.

I'm aware of the history,I was just wondering if the figures were as widly available as the Kenner figures.Since I was born in '82 I totally missed out on these lines,Thus seeing these figs at retail is slim to none.I didn't get my first Indy fig till '89 which was a hand me down from my Cousins,A nice Map room Indy.I've still got it till this day.

NO!! they were not released as wide...Mostly to Circus world, Children's palace, k B Toys, & toys r Us....Maybe a few off named stores.. they were VERY hard to find.. Even Mola Ram. the sculpt on Indy is my favorite ...I have 8 loose & Complete Indy's and 3 MOC.. the TOD line is my favorite because of how much of a PRIZE it was to find. Plus the accessories were PERFECT!!
