I'm hoping it's not too anime-ish, but that seems to be animation's stigma nowadays. Oh well. At least Disney is returning to form next December.

I think that's the first Night Owl, and the first Silk Spectre is above him...Snakes said:Naw, I think it's the Nite Owl...again.
No, it's not. The first Nite Owl has a goofier-lookin' costume made out of cloth and such, and appears in the top right corner of the poster.WillKill4Food said:I think that's the first Night Owl, and the first Silk Spectre is above him...
Well, then, I stand corrected. I just didn't think they would put two pictures of the same character on the poster. But thanks for the info!agentsands77 said:The fella you guys are talking about is, in fact, snow suit-clad Nite Owl II. We know because they recently released full pictures of the snow suit, and that's exactly it.
The DVD EE cut will be, according to Snyder, 3 hours, 30 minutes (the theatrical cut will probably run about 2 hours, 40 minutes). I'm pretty sure that a 2 hour, 40 minute cut could be successful, once you pare down a lot of the fat. It might be a bit too "concise" to please all of the fanbase - hence the extended DVD cut - but it could still play pretty well.phantom train said:First of all, to do the comic justice, the film would have to be at least three hours long, and I know it won't be.
"Completely" is a bit strong. They've clearly modified the costume some to underline the Batman parallels and such (Snyder has tried to tweak the visual language of the film WATCHMEN to help reflect the cinematic superhero legacy, just as the comic WATCHMEN reflected the comic-book superhero legacy), but it's still recognizable as Nite Owl.phantom train said:Second, I don't like how they changed the appearances of some of the characters from the comic - for example, Nite Owl is completely different.
He's still out-of-shape/retired in the film. It's just that his suit in the film isn't made of cloth, so it doesn't show it as much.phantom train said:In the comic, he was an out-of-shape retired superhero - however, in the film, he looks completely different.
To an extent. His suit was changed from gold to black, with a sculpted torso (in order to further emphasize his superhero "theme" by echoing the design of Egyptian statues). It's nothing radical, though.phantom train said:I'm also not thrilled with the depiction of Ozymandias, who also looks significantly different from the comic.

What.
That's the most bizarre, elitist thing I've ever heard.|ZiR| said:My brother says he doesn't want to go see the movie since the theater will be filled with people who haven't even read the comic and are only there because they feel they're supposed to like it.
