Hey, Lucas & Spielberg here are some locations!

You know, as long as Mr. Lucas is in "think mode", I thought that we could drum up some inspirational locales for the next installment of the Indiana Jones saga. I'm willing to bet that even if even Lucas, Speilberg, and Ford avoid this site, it seems inevitable that someone in their respective circles frequents the raven. That being said, why not offer something to help them on their way? Naive? Maybe, but stranger things have happened. Besides, I think it could be fun for us either way:

Several shots of The Pitons in St. Lucia (opening shot, anyone?):

Wow, Trennas, those are awesome! I especially like the second shot, taken from the outside. Breathtaking. In that vein, how about some of the underground cisterns in turkey?

Can't you just imagine Indy canoeing through one of these?

Thanks! I love the cisterns of Istanbul as wel (they are also on my list), though it would be rather hard getting a canoe in there, methinks :p Altough, they did use the cisterns in the James Bond movie From Russia With Love, and they were canoeing in there as well; or was it a gondola? My memory has abandoned me!

Next one!

I've seen the underwater monument before, and it's fascinating, but I'm not sure what Indy would do with it. Seems more like a Lara Croft type thing. Here's another inspirational locale:

Well, since we were talking locations, I figured I'd throw in the underwater ruins as well! As for what Indy would have to do there; I had a few ideas, maybe you'll read about them someday.. if I ever get around to some Indy writing time :p

India is really a fascinating country! I would just go there for all the amazing temples! :D

Although Ankor Thom, Cambodia was featured in one of the Tomb Raider flicks, (I can't remember which one) there is still plenty that could be mined from it for Indy:

I couldn't ascertain this actual location from the attatched blog/article:

TransSiberianANZACDay216.jpg

That's the Turkish region of Cappadocia; really weird moonlike landscape where people just carved houses from rocks. Indiana Jones and the Genesis Deluge is partly set there :)

More great locations overall! Keep em coming! :D

Some pics of Wat Phou (a ruined Khmer temple in southern Laos):
wat_phu_champasak2.JPG

This one reminds me terribly much of the overgrown temple complex in Ceylon from the starting levels of Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb! :D

It's too bad so much of Kingdom took place in Peru. Machu Picchu would make a great opening shot. It's about 45 miles outside of Cusco.

Machu_Picchu600.jpg

Might work if it was just the end of a previous adventure, ala Raiders. Maybe a Kingdom prequel, with Indy saying something like "I won't be coming back here any time soon".

I'm with IB on this one. That has Indiana Jones written all over it.
