A Potential Swordfight Between Blanchet and Shia ???

In this photo with Cate Blanchett (Agent Spalko), if you look at the right side of the photo underneath her raised arm you'll notice she has a sword as a part of her equipment.

On the new cover for the upcoming Dark Horse Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comics book you can see Shia (Mutt) holding .....
what do you know....a sword !!!

So now, This you'll have to do on your own, but if you zoom up closely to sword on Blanchett's character and compare it to the one Shia is holding, you'll notice it's the same sword. Mutt must have gotten it from somewhere, right? Now you can begin to see a possible action sequence.

Im guessing that Indy is going to be tied up trying to do something (saving marion) and Mutt will probably be trying to prevent Agent Spalko from getting near or close to the crystal skull?

who knows. I just thought it was interesting to see it.

Shia's sword looks like a Spanish sword, it's definately not the one Cate has (her handle is smaller). Perhaps he gets that inside the temple of the crystal skull off of one of the dead (?) Conquistaors?

in the other thread about blanchetts role, i speculated about the sword, that seemed quite odd to me for her character. i also think it might be spanish and maybe holds some key to the kingdom?

Why are you guys all trying to put these things together? If you're right, you've ruined the surprise for yourselves. Can't you just wait for the film and get the full value out of it?

It is. It's just that you guys are very possibly right, in which case you've just ruined a set-piece for yourselves, and you'll enjoy the film less now because there won't be that surprise factor.

Seriously, try waiting patiently for the next four months instead of trying to figure out what'll happen. You'll enjoy the film alot more.

Eh,I'll blame my ADD

In all seriousness,I did try to avoid spoilers but it got the best of me...
It's a bit like the 'Erase the history of the world'' button in Ren and Stimpy.You don't wont to push it but you can't stop yourself from doing it.

Same goes with me in regards to spoilers....

But I do draw the line at MAJOR spoilers.Let's say if the ending or clips just so happen to leak it's way onto youtube,There is no way in hell I'll be watching them.

I wasn't just talking about looking up spoilers, but also trying to figure things out from photos and pieces of information we've been given.

I can see your point.Part of the fun for me is the speculation aspect.I love looking at spoiler pics and wondering how they will fit in the story and if they fit in with other pictures or news blurbs I've seen.Who knows,I could be spot on or WAYYYYY off....

Well, anyone in the Spoiler section obviously would have thrown caution to the wind a long time ago and doesn't care about things being spoiled for them. So, actually, as useless as I find this thread, they are at least discussing something in relevance to the film, not just sitting here with nothing to say until someone finds more pictures or something.

But if you are spot on about the swordfight thats a set-piece ruined for yourself. You would have enjoyed it more if you'd seen it in the trailer or the film for the first time.

Do you know what a spoiler is?

Do you know what we do in the spoiler forum? We spoil the movie for ourselves! That's the point of this forum! If you don't want to talk about plot points in detail, You should go to the non-spoiler forum.

Oops, double post

The way that I feel about spoilers goes like this.
I feel that while a film is in production, while all the mayhem of putting a film together is going on... I feel that the ultimate way for a fan to experience and appreciate the movie is to go through the day by day search for new production photos, set photos, articles written by people who sneaked onto a movie lot, etc etc.

Think about it, when you buy a movie on dvd, I assume many of you like to watch the "how they did it" feature, and I'm pretty sure that after you've seen it, you feel alot more connected with the film.

The same applies to spoilers. For those who've been watching out everyday for Indy spoilers, you know when the movie comes out you'll appreciate the movie more.

"oh' that mexico airport scene was shot in Fresno, Ca. "
"I remember seeing those pictures of the south american temple that was build at the Downey lot. "
"Those jungle shots were from hawaii. "
"The motorcycle chase, in new haven, how can I forget"

Just going through the process from pre to post production really makes you more appreciative of the film. And on a side note, who knows if there will ever be another Indy film, so might as well go all the way and soak everything in, right?

I hope there will be a classic swordfight in this movie. Remember, a sword versus whip fight was discarded in Raiders and we only get a brief Indy versus two swordsmen in Temple. I hope it will be Indy versus sword. Maybe they will re-hash the Cairo marketplace manouveres?
