I thought Solo was fantastic actually, so I would rather he work on the script than Koepp anyway. Wish George was involved even if a little, like the stuff he helped with on Solo.

Fully agree.

They'd better get a move on with this, nobody is getting any younger...

John Williams hospitalized – He will not conduct the concert at the Royal Albert Hall

Apparently his condition is not severe, here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

The trades are saying that WEST SIDE STORY will film late next summer. This probably means INDY 5 would have to shoot Spring 2020, or get cancelled for good.

Maybe Johnny could start coming up with some themes on spec...

If I could choose, I'd have him work on an upbeat new theme for the flashback scenes with a younger actor, and a slower, more reflective one for the "old Indy" section of the movie.

I’m starting to feel like, at this rate, this script is going to wind up reworked for a reboot or something. JW is already 86 and he’ll be inching ever closer to 90 by the time they get to the scoring stage of the movie.

Meanwhile, Tron—a thoroughly dead franchise for some time—is getting a new ride at Disney, as I saw to my chagrin this summer while at Magic Kingdom.
Yay.

As I posted in the "What's Harrison Ford doing these days?" thread:

Getting ready for Indy 5, apparently....
This leaves only one question, though. How much can Harrison Ford bench?
To sum up the article, apparently he's quite excited for the film and has embarked on a new fitness regimen mostly dealing with heavy lifting. But there was one detail in the article which I found interesting enough to warrant its inclusion here:
Quote:
Indiana Jones 5 is set to begin filming within the next year or so.
Again, caveat emptor, as I'm not sure exactly how reliable Closer Weekly is, but it's interesting that they've targeted a (presumably) late 2019 start date for filming.
It would be great if a slightly more credible source was able to confirm at least something related to this. And note, it's quite possible that they're still going off older statements from Spielberg (especially with the original April 2019 start date), but the fact that Harrison is apparently starting a new regimen now with only one other live-action film in production (The Call of the Wild) leads me to assume there might be some truth in it.

Late 2019? Never mind Harrison. I'm starting to wonder if I'll still be alive by the time this movie comes out.

The answer is right there in the article: "a source told OK!".

LOL

Hear, hear, my good man .
Granted, I wouldn't really consider OK! magazine as a main source of news, but a bit of cross-referencing shows that they aren't really guilty of anything besides the usual supermarket tabloid fluff which finds its way onto every shore.
And to be brutally honest, I don't think Indiana Jones is exactly the type of franchise that newsmedia will perepetuate rumors for. There's not much gain to be made out of it compared to topics like Marvel or yet another royal child .

It's theoretically possible they could start shooting by the end of next year, if Spielberg opts to go straight from WEST SIDE STORY to INDY 5, but the history of this project isn't such that I'm inclined to buy the most optimistic timeline.

As for what I personally think, although I'm a Ford Fanatic, I was almost positive that the film would contain at least a teaser of a new actor, and if Pratt had taken the role, I wouldn't particularly mind, although he's a bit more "goofy" as an actor.
Maybe Gosling will take the part .

In Jurassic World, I couldn't see Pratt as Indy. But in Fallen Kingdom, I could. He was definitely channeling Indy more often, especially in the lava scene.
