Good to have the forum back, so:
Hi there - holy smokepipe - my friends!

Concerning this thread: How about LOST HORIZON?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Ho...8video_game%29

I have this lying around since a couple of years and did a short test of intro and game waay back then.

It feels very much like Indiana Jones, and in fact I'm looking forward to finally playing it! (soon, 2 more to go) :-D

Bye,
ML

Sniper Elite and Zombie Army Trilogy are both excellent games, and I expect Strange Brigade to be just as good! Tune into E3 for the first look at gameplay and then sign up to win a free copy of the game!

The latest Uncharted game (called UNCHARTED: The Lost Legacy) is obviously heavily influenced by the adventures of Indy, as are the other games in the series

Dumbest post of the year? Maybe. Certainly in the Top 5 thus far!

I'll let you figure out why.

For everybody else, Rebellion has released some gameplay footage from their floor demo. I see some reused Sniper Elite III assets, but it looks good for being early in production. I hope they tighten up some of the enemy AI; as of now, they seem sort of... listless.

Elsewhere, the development team has mentioned how the announcer in the trailer will be commenting on the game's events as you advance through the levels a la the classic pulp radio plays. I'd like to see them expound upon this aspect as it could be quite amusing, and in keeping with the seemingly established tone.

Now that E3 is behind us various bits of footage are finding their way online, and IGN has helped us out with a 14-minute gameplay demo! The shooting remains sufficient, but I really dig the announcer/narrator. He adds another level of enjoyment.

Actually, I'd prefer an explanation. I shared the very latest Uncharted game trailer for everyone to check out, not to be insulted.

I remember playing Fred on my ZX Spectrum 48K back in the 80s. The only reason I purchased this game was that it was obviously heavily influenced by Indiana Jones. It actually turned out to be fun (if somewhat repetitive) swashbucking entertainment ... https://www.retrogamer.net/retro_games80/fred/

I can't speak for Le Sab, but the post was a little misplaced because we have a rather prominent Uncharted thread where the newest entry, along with the rest, is being discussed in detail.

I wouldn't call it a particularly dumb post, but it was at least a minor board faux pas regardless.

Strange Brigade | Story Trailer | PS4

From the creators of Sniper Elite 4 and Zombie Army Trilogy comes a rip-roaring 1930s adventure for 1-4 players filled with pulse-pounding action, treacherous traps and tales of derring-do

The folks over at Rebellion have released a new trailer for Strange Brigade in the run up to Leak3. It features a new location -- the Hidden Valley -- and a handful of new weapons and various supernatural attacks (that are largely AOE attacks).

Dig it!

In The Valley Of Gods will soon be released by Campo Santo, the games studio responsible for Firewatch ... https://inthevalleyofgods.com ... Details about the game are quite scarce but you can follow its development on their blog ... http://blog.camposanto.com

The teaser trailer has a definite Indy vibe especially what occurs at its end ...

It definitely has an Indiana Jones vibe from the looks but I had to look up the developer on the Internet because I did not know who they were.
Apparently their previous game was Fire Watch, a title I did see on Steam but it wasn't something I was not very interested in.

Having just read the summary of the storyline of Fire Watch on Wikipedia I do not think this game will story wise not be at all like an Indiana Jones if the designers decide to do a storyline in the same vein for it.
I could be wrong but I strongly urge caution to people who are thinking of pre ordering it.

To me Indiana Jones is mystery with some personal story telling as well but not a focus on trying to uncover secrets about each other, oh and there should be some pulp story action in it.

Strange Brigade. I saw a trailer on this game on the RPG codex a while back.
When I saw it I felt it was more like the Mummy movies with Brendan Fraser than the Indiana Jones movies.
I find it difficult to put in words, but if the Indiana Jones movies were already "bigger than life" then those movies were really over the top sometimes.
It lacks a certain subtlety and being a lot more "in your face"

Gameplay wise I do not think it is really like an Indiana Jones game, even if compared to Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine and Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. (well not surprising, it is a multiplayer co op shooter)

It feels more like Left 4 Dead with a different skin on top of it.

Oh before I forget, when I saw that trailer for the first time I honestly did not get a "This is a winner" impression from it.
