The Mine Shaft

Who can resist the coolness of the scenes in the Mine Shaft? From throwing stones at the Chief Guard, to freeing Indian children, to somebody crushed in a rock crusher... Who else loves this stuff? It's one of my favorite scenes in trilogy!

It is indeed great stuff. Indiana's fight with the Giant Thuggee was perhaps the most brutal in all the films. If it weren't for Shortie, our hero would be a goner. My favorite from the mine shaft is when Indy is running across the scaffolding while bullets whiz by his head. He dunks and scampers and uses the whip to swing out across the expanse and into the mine-cart. That right there is the very definition of awesome.
