Indiana Jones Animated Line

What do you guys think are the chances of them coming out with an Indiana Jones Animated Statue/Maquette Line like they did with Star Wars Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean?

I hope it happens. I live these lines.

It means that the statues/maquettes are done in the style as if they were characters in an animated series. They did it with all the classic Trilogy Star Wars characters as well as with Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean.

It was Gentle Giant who did all the animated lines, they are also doing some Indiana Jones statues, although no word on an animated line, but Im almost sure it'll happen.

Here is Lord of the Rings Animated https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/search/brand/8 just go on the top where it says show all product types and click on Animated Maquette

Here is Star Wars Animated https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/search/brand/12 just go on the top where it says show all product types and click on Animated Maquette

Here you can see Pirates of the Caribbean Animated https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/search/brand/10

Here you can see a very interesting Animated Jason Vorhees Maquette https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/product/detail/338

I think these look great and I would love to see Indiana Jones in this style.

I would really like that if they made these. I love some of the Star Wars ones. An animated statue of Indy, Short Round and Marion would be high on my list of must buys if these were made.

In fact they wouldn't even have to design a cartoon Indy style. Patrick Schoenmaker already did, very successfully...

Actually, They turned the animated Pirate statues into a full fledged POTC Dead Men Tell no tales Action figure line.. Target has been getting them here.. they are 4" and look AMAZING!!

I'm betting there will be an Indy cartoon to come in 09 or 10

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Star Wars animated maquettes... from the Clone Wars series style. I'd love to see some Indy ones, actually. Imagine one of the golden idol on it's pedestal or of the giant boulder from Raiders! Or just a badass one of him cracking his whip!

I'd like to see some more Star Wars ones too though. I like what they've done so far. Really cool. But they need one of Luke and Vader fighting with their lightsabers drawn from ESB or ROTJ... and they also need one of Boba Fett. ...

For anyone who'd like to see, here's a video of one of the Star Wars ones... Luke in his X-Wing Fighter outfit:

Didn't think about Darth Maul!! Need one of him!
UPDATE:
Just found a preview of the 2008 Animated Star Wars Line -- Check-check it... check it out:

Chances are it would be based on a cartoon...so...it would look cartoonish.

I like that picture of Indy, although he's a little too skinny for my taste. He reminds me of a bit of a rat in that picture, but maybe it's just the way he's hunched over.

The heavily stylized nature of these things is what makes them so cool, if the designs are good. If one doesn't want them to be too cartoonish, there's plenty of realistic looking stuff out there. These are basically take-home maquettes, which are the statues that animators use to give their work a consistency when drawing from different angles.

As pointed out, that's the whole point.

I don't understand why people don't appreciate the stylized designs in stuff like Clone Wars. I love the cartoon art-style.

I just saw those "animated" Pirates toys at Target the other day, and I thought they looked great. I'd love to see an Indy line in that style. (y)

Perhaps if the new Clone Wars series is a success Lucas will consider an Indiana Jones animated series? I would freakin love that! It could be both entertaining and educational, and while they probably wouldn't be able to get Harrison Ford, they could bring back the guy who voiced Indy in Fate of Atlantis and one of the other games. Or maybe do a series of Flash-based episodes released online like this one last year starring Lara Croft.

They talked about that on the Indy Cast this week. I would love that as well! :whip:

About the possibility of an animated series? That would be oh-so-awesome to see! As long as it wasn't done in a goofy-looking style like Clone Wars was. Lucas should team up with DC master animator Bruce Timm to bring an Indy series to life. (y)
