A hard decision... can you choose wisely for Indy 5?

Choose wisely, classic Indy with no Harrison or new development for Indy 5?

Think about it.
If you could choose between an Indy movie withouth Harrison with a new guy playing Indy, and a new Indy movie with Harrison, what would you pick?

But before you answer, think about it: the movie without Harrison would be Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

If they decide to make FOA a movie without Harrison, would you support it? :whip:

Not ready for an Indy movie without Harrison yet, thanks. Once having him in a movie is no longer an option, I'd like to see the franchise kept alive in some fashion, but would not want to see the title role re-cast.

Man, thats a tough one. I'd love to see another Indy film with Harrison Ford. On the other hand, Fate of Atlantis would make a dynamite Indy movie. It would be hard to accept someone else playing Indy, but if they found someone really good, I could see myself supporting it.

As much as I love Harrison Ford as Indy, I would much rather have a classic style Indy without Harrison, than a KOTCS style Indy with Harrison.

If the series is doomed for more films in the vein of KOTCS, it should end. KOTCS resembles classic Indy about as much the cgi swinging monkeys resemble the opening of the Ark scene from Raiders.

Only on two conditions.

Indy is played by Hugh Jackman. He's a great actor and he's has that rugged Indiana Jones look to pull it off.

Second, it can't simply be a good movie like Kingdom, it would have to be GREAT in order for me to accept a non-Harrison Indy.

Hugh Jackman? I'll go for that! (he's gooorgeous...:p ) But on the other hand, an Indiana Jones film without HF is no Indiana Jones.
But maybe Hugh Jackman in a supporting role? mmmmmmmmm Bring on Indy V!

Hugh Jackman is the ONLY other actor that could possibly pull off Indiana Jones(In my mind anyway). Of course, if I could have both Ford and a great movie, that would be fine too (y)

I reall would not want an Indy movie without Ford. I have never played Fate of Atlantis but I hear it's really good, and it sounds like it'd be a great Indy movie, but like many other I say no Ford, no Indy. Bring on Indy 5.

As blasphemous as it is....I would rather have Indy re-casted and have them go back to do pulp-serial adventures that make a return to adventure, excitement, and good-hearted grittiness in the spirit of Raiders of the Lost Ark than for Harrison Ford to continue the role with Marian and Mutt along for the ride stealing scenes from Harrison himself...and for the action and humour to be dumbed down to please the masses.

KOTC felt like a Roger Moore James Bond ala Moonraker. A fun movie, but it didnt take itself seriously at all. More goofy. Now look at Casino Royale...back to the basics and a classic style. I want that kind of re-metamorphesus for Indy V...otherwise dont bother.

I haven't played any of the video games, but, if enough people think "Fate of Atlantis" is good, then I can't see why it can't be IJ5--but stuck after LC and before KCS, making it an 'interquel', or "intervening sequel".

Sorry, Harrison Ford IS Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr.; no one else can play him or replace him ...um, but how about both Harrison and Hugh in an Indy movie? :D

I'm envisioning something along the lines of the "Secret Kingdom of the Amazon Warriors", maybe set in a hidden oasis in Australia, and these women warriors don't like technology--or men--but for some reason, Indy and his cousin ("Beau Maverick Jones") end up without their clothes... funny how that keeps happening to these guys...  (...okay, so maybe they do like men... just unclothed... :whip: )

I don't know: should we have Marion show up to save their sorry butts, or should they 'suffer' for a bit?! (y)

(BTW, if you haven't seen the trailer for "Australia" in which Hugh stars, he's suitably grubby and khaki for most of the snippets, but they do have a scene reminiscent of TOD where he shows up in a tux--same style--all cleaned up.) And I must say, Harrison and Hugh clean up mighty good ;) ;)

Okay, okay, it's all just an excuse to get Indy's whip and fedora! And leather jacket... and trousers... and shirt... and answer that burning question: Boxers or briefs?!! (we never found out in the decontam shower--and how did he get his leather jacket and fedora back, for that matter?!)

I'm not sure I understand the purpose of this poll. A hard decision for hard decision's sake? In my opinion, "classic Indy movie" and "without Harrison" repel each other like oil and vinegar.

I love Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis! But I'd want Indy played By Harrison Ford in it, or I wouldn't feel like I am seeing an Indy film. I just wish they'd make it, and edit the dates so the FOA actions occur in the 1950s! (Though it'd throw the Nazi aspect a bit out of the window!)
