Kate was talking about Absinthe and I missed it?!? That's what I get for taking a break from the Raven on weekends and doing things. ;)

Morning: Blueberry Flavored Coffee with a touch of Scotch.

Et tu, Fiske? I never pictured you as a flavored coffee drinker. I always imagined you as a coffee flavored coffee drinker. Personally, I hate flavored coffees, but I guess it was the five years of brainwashing as a Starbucks employee. ;)

Actually, when I worked at Starbucks, I turned into a hardcore coffee drinker...black with no sugar. That was insane. Black coffee and straight espresso shots, that was my drink when I was closing the store. It got so bad, that I started to invent "shooters" style espresso shots: two shots of espresso, with a shot of flavored syrup and a layer of heavy cream.

I'll never go back to flavored coffee again.

Concerning wine I have an advice for the young men taking their lady out to a somewhat fancy restaurant. If you don't know what wine to take, just order a BROUILLY (Beaujolais). It's one of the only red wines that's supposed to be served fresh, it's an elegant wine, usually very much appreciated by women, and it's affordable. Now don't go thinking I'm a wine specialist, this is just what my dad has taught me.

Usually red wine goes with red meat. White wine goes with fish and pink wine (rosé) goes with anything but it's more of a summer wine.

Ah yes. Folks, I suggest you listen to Vaxer's opinions about wine...he's French.

I don't really make a habit out of drinking, but every once in a while I get a craving for a margarita or sangria.

Oh, and I LOVE Starbuck's Frappachino and Chai Tea! Yummy yum!

You know who has better Chai Tea lattes than Starbucks? The cafe at Borders Books and Music. Having worked for both places, I know from experience. The Borders Chai is creamier and has more flavor than the Starbucks.

Although Starbucks does have the best Caramel Macchiatos. You know, I won a taste test. I make the greates Caramel Macchiatos ever. Well, at least I did when I was still a coffee jockey.

Yeah, I've been hearing a lot of raves about the Macchiatos from my friends. Think I'll try one this weekend.

Gee, wish you could FAX me one-- LOL!

Or just ethanol. Its ethyl alchohol, which is used in most alchoholic beverages. Alchohols are just the plain hydrocarbon with one hydrogen replaced by a hydroxide.

But yeah, it is grain alchohol.

How about an "Indiana Jones" (yes, it actually exsists. I found this on line).

Specialty drink: The ?Indiana Jones?

½ shot Whisky
½ shot Tequila
1 shot Champagne

(Optional: One drop each: blood, sweat, tear ;) )

Add the whisky and tequila together and double-up with champagne or sparkling wine. Place your hand or a beer mat over the glass, slam it down onto table and then down it in one. Serve in highball glass.

(This is my own suggestion: Stir with a stick of dynamite. For fun, light the dynamite and toss it out the window at the nearest car.)

I'll have to remember to try that. I knew it existed but I've haven't gotten around to making one.

enjoying an adult libation tonight

I got a gift card to Shell Gas Station for my birthday. Tonight, I decided to use it. I splurged on premium, save $7.99 for a six pack of Samuel Adams (Original) Boston Lager. [There was a time in my life that I could stock the fridge with several varities of it, but pennies are thin for the last two years] I even took cases of it to the river, so that while the rest of the partiers were drinking the 3/2 clear water light from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I was enjoying the amber goodness from the heart of rebellion. Made me the most popular guy out there. But I digress...

Man I forgot how good a real beer tastes. *sips another swig of the best beer in the world*

Don't associate the Centennial State with that travesty known as Coors Light... If you get a chance, try some "Fat Tire", a micro brew from Colorado that has a devoted fan base. Horsey, I'm not sure if you can get it in Cali, but from one beer connoisseur to another... it just might be worth a trip to Colorado. :)

Born and raised in CO. my friend, I have a Rocky Mountain heart, with a California attitude. If I am not mistaken, Rock Bottom Beer is a Colorado based brewery, and they have a location out here in Long Beach.

How interesting... I'm like your evil twin then. I was born in Long Beach, and grew up in Colorado.
