Is that a riff on the title or a riff on the title? :p

Also shouldn't this thread be retitled now we have an official title?

Changed the title, though I'm not sure where the colon or dash or roman numerals go, if anywhere. Was it time to dispense with the numbering, as with Star Trek 7? Will all the movies be retitled again?

My guess is one of the Solo offspring turns 21 and gets the force during the pon farr, as JJ Abrams understands it.

Well, the "full titles" will always have the Episode number in them, but I'm actually glad they seem to be leaving it out of the marketing title.

And nice to see another title take on the "Empire Strikes Back" motif of ending on an active term.

Star Wars Episode VIII The Force Eats Breakfast

Star Wars Episode IX The Force Goes Back To Bed

Even an honest, genuine reaction to the ridiculous is better than the blasé:

So many great potential tag lines!!!!

The Force Awakens . . .

And has a hangover...

And has to Coyote Ugly it's own arm off...

And doesn't want to go to school....

And is pissed off.....

Wonder if that type/font is official...reminds me of something...

$10 says that the second movie title will have the word Dark in it

$5 for words implying darkness (black, shadow, night, eclipse)

Abrams probably came up with the title after a few days of having to awaken the geriatric members of his cast from their afternoon naps. :p

Well this sucks. Thought the title would have the words "Electric" and "Boogaloo" in it.

Got to save something for VIII and IX.

The Force Awakens is the Quantum of Solace of Star Wars titles. So long as it doesn't turn out to be the KOTCS of Star Wars films they might just get away with it.

Title is silly. The Force doesn't sleep. Even Alec Guinness said so, and he didn't have a clue what was going on at the best of times as Obi-Wan.

Man, this announcement totally woke the force in my pants.

Beautiful space princesses can have that effect.

She said she'd rather kiss a Wookiee. Looks like she finally got her wish.
