Our favorite flyboy does it again, this time with a passenger jet

Harrison Ford was involved in an incident involving a passenger jet, sources told ABC News.

The actor, who is also a private pilot, was landing a plane at John Wayne Airport in Orange County when he flew over an American Airlines 737 aircraft bound for Dallas - Ft. Worth.

There were no injuries and the FAA is currently investigating the situation.

Ford's publicist told ABC News he had no official statement about the incident.

And another article on the same incident, this one is more sarcastic:

Harrison Ford has more piloting problems

Harrison Ford had another incident while piloting his small airplane on Monday, during which nearly flew over a bigger plane at a Southern California airport and landed where he wasn’t supposed to.

Maybe Han Solo is getting too old for this stuff.

The larger plane departed with no problems for Dallas just a few minutes after the incident.

Ford, 74, reportedly asked air traffic controllers "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?"

Uh …

He was then told he landed on a taxiway rather than the runway. Which is a violation of Federal Aviation Administration safety rules.

Exactly. I first saw this earlier today on the New York Post site and it broke my heart that that they, tabloid-rag-that-they-are, didn't have 'Fly yes, land no' as a zingy headline.

I know you can't teach an old dog new tricks but my advice to Ford would be when you are well into your '70's and flying a plane, you might want to lose some of your trademark snark/arrogance because if something is wrong or out of place, there is a fair chance it is your fault.

Query to management, why isn't this in general discussion?

(laughing) Sue me. I meant 'open discussion.' What does this have to do with Indiana Jones? Ford had a beard when he was flying? . . .which links to YIJC, which I'm told is 'Canon.'

To keep Stop busy.

Did you read the Clint and Scott Eastwood article in Esquire? In it Clint speaks of never letting the old man in. I fear Harrison has.

Clearly, the man can do his own aerial stunts in Indy 5.

If so, I'll bet his does it without his license.

I'm no flyer but the footage looks pretty egregious -- he missed his mark.

To be fair, he don't need a licence to 'fly'.

I highly doubt he's going to get away with a "slap on the wrist" here.

Since he was young, Harry was always a high flier.

We've all heard of the "Ford Finger", now the "Harry Slap".

Hmm, not sure if awesome or weird...

Before or after pledge?

So, apparently Harry 'flew in the face of', recently;

So, fly? Yes. Land? Yes.

I guess.

"I'm the schmuck who landed on the taxiway"

Actor Harrison Ford said he was distracted and concerned about turbulence from another aircraft last month when he mistakenly landed on a taxiway at a Southern California airport after flying low over an airliner with 116 people aboard, according to an audio recording released Friday.

"I'm the schmuck who landed on the taxiway," Ford told an air traffic controller shortly after the near-miss on Feb. 13 at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

Recordings of Ford's conversations with air traffic controllers were released Friday by the Federal Aviation Administration.

When an air traffic controller told the "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" star to take his time getting the number from his pilot's license, remarking it isn't a big deal, Ford responded: "It's a big deal for me."

After Ford told the employee his name, the man seemed taken aback and assured Ford he won't share his phone number with anyone.

Our lad can keep on flying!

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will not pursue enforcement action against actor Harrison Ford after he mistakenly landed a small plane on a taxiway at John Wayne Airport, his attorney said.
