LAS VEGAS -- A jury convicted O.J. Simpson of armed robbery and kidnapping late Friday night, 13 years to the day after he was acquitted of killing his ex-wife and her friend in Los Angeles.

The verdicts mean that Simpson, 61, faces a possible life sentence for a six-minute confrontation with two sports memorabilia dealers last year at a down-market casino hotel. Sentencing will be Dec. 5.

I feel like this was more like retaliation for his last crime. A life sentence doesn't quite seem fair for armed robbery. He should definitely go to jail, but I'm not sure if it should be for the rest of his life.

In our judicial system, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I don't doubt that he killed his ex-wife and her friend, but the prosecution wasn't able to prove that he did it beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Of course, he hasn't officially been given a life sentence, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

It's obvious to me that this jury wanted to burn him for his previous crimes. Sometimes I'm glad that loopholes are found in the justice system, but they can be dangerous. This one was warranted.

Not much of a loophole though. I mean if O.J. were smart he would have stayed out of trouble after being let off the hook for double homicide. He was asking for it.

I was watching on CNN about this. Apparently there's some case that he didn't get a fair trial due to no minorities on the jury. WTF.

A person was shot in the event, and later died of a heart-attack due to the trama. So, yeah... this rises up to 'life', certainly.

Didn't hear about that, although honestly I wasn't following the case closely. I just read that O.J. was involved in armed robbery and he claimed he was just getting back some of his stuff.

He felt that some of his goods were 'stolen' years ago, and some was traced through auction (they were sold by the state when he abandoned his California properties to move to Florida) to the victim.

He gathered together a 'posse' of armed men, broke into this man's warehouse, and began to steal everything there. One of OJ's henchmen actually fired upon and shot an elderly gentleman. The man went into shock and died later of a heart-attack.

Whatever the severity of his latest misadventure, the man is a lunatic to put himself back at any jury's mercy. A lunatic...

He probably wished Johnnie was still around eh? I wonder if he still has the skills that got him the Heisman trophy, or will he fumble the soap?

Perhaps. Sitting in prison may make him sour. Hopefully he wont get into trouble. I'd hate to see him beaten to a pulp!

All I can say is that it's about time he got his comeuppance and I, for one, am very glad about it. The man's arrogance and stupidity knows no bounds. I'll never forget when Barbara Walters interviewed him and at the end of the interview he did something very strange-- he suddenly opened a door that she was behind and started making stabbing motions towards her with his hands as if he had a knife a la Norman Bates in Psycho. Verrrry disturbing. I tried to find the video of that, but couldn't.

I guess he's been handing out Snickers bars left and right at prison. Probably trying to make buddies with the other inmates so he doesn't get stuck with a --ahem-- "Snickers bar" when he's in the shower. :whip: :D
