A favourite is difficult to choose. (The only one whom I don't like in the role is Mr. Pierce Brosnan.)

Anyway, the poll is incomplete!(n) It doesn't include these:

Barry Nelson (1954)
David Niven (1967)
Sean Connery (1983)

David Niven (1967)

You mean David Niven, Peter Sellers, Ursula Andress, Woody Allen, Joanna Pettet, Barbara Bouchet, Terrence Cooper, and Daliah Lavi, to say nothing of a seal, dog, monkey, and some American Indians. And yes, I'm tempted to add all that to the poll and cast my vote for them.

That's quite the mock-up image you came across, by the way.

No, my friend, I mean only David Niven. All of the others in that film have the name, James Bond, as an alias. Niven is THE James Bond so adding the rest to the poll would make no sense (but voting for the seal would be fun, though.;))

It's good but there is a better, genuine image...

Plenty of variants of it, too:

But as it says on the tin, Casino Royale was too much for one James Bond. Ergo, Evelyn Tremble, Vesper Lynd, Miss Moneypenny, Mata Bond, Jimmy Bond, and the rest occupy, at the very least, a Bond-like state. :hat:

Anyhow, I'd only add Casino Royale's many Bonds as a single option, but, if disassociated, Niven's Sir James Bond would likely still be my preference.

Thanks for amending the poll, Attila. Nice choice on Niven because Ian Fleming wanted him as Bond instead of Connery.

Roger Moore was the 1st Bond I saw ("Spy Who Loved Me") and the 007 that I grew up with so I have a big soft spot for him. Being of fan of The Saint, as well, Moore is right up there surpassed only by Dalton. My vote goes for fave goes to Timothy Dalton.

Raiders112390, why haven't you told us your favourite? You didn't even vote on your own poll!

It actually wasn't my change. As much as I'm taken with that film, I wasn't about to inflict it on the poll. Not that I didn't take advantage of it being there.

My EON-canon vote would actually match yours. Connery set the standard, and I appreciate the drastic shift away from the excesses of the Brosnan era that Craig has given us, but Dalton put in a fine couple of performances. I'd happily rewatch A License to Kill in particular, which is possibly the series's truest heir to the excellent From Russia With Love.
