Fate of Atlantis soundtrack

Might be a fool's errand after so many years, but to be fair, he did nothing not encouraged by the forum policy.

However, I don't consider it too much to hope that while the original source is long dead, someone who reads this might have it in their digital archives.

EDIT: After a short dig into our archives, I was able to come up with this. It's not the same project - but the link provided at the bottom of the OP still works.

Don´t get me wrong, it wasn´t my intention to blame him for misbehaviour. I was just wondering that he was expecting an answer from this specific user.

There have been several renditions of FoA's soundtrack. I'm unfamiliar with the one you're looking for. I can try to find a couple of the other ones if you're interested, but no guarantees.

Then again, I see Finn found 1 of the 2 I'm thinking of, so there's that.

Interesting... I thought I had the Lundquist version, but... apparently not.

I've got:
* Simonsen - http://soundtracks.mixnmojo.com/foa.htm (42 tracks)
* Draggor - http://www.draggor.com/music/vg_ijfa.asp (42 tracks)
* Zemus - http://s-island.mixnmojo.com/fate.php (43 tracks)
* Douglas - http://richdouglas.net/ocr/FateOfAtlantis_LS_Soundtrack.zip (11 tracks)

The latter (which Finn already linked to) is a full-on rearrangement of some of the highlights of the score - different flourishes, timing, etc - which give it a more modern sensibility. Still performed by synth/sequencer, but it sounds like a modern film soundtrack. The others - while distinct from each other - are the original MIDI files performed by different synth sample sets and with various knobs tweaked, but not deviating too much from the music that came out of your PCs speakers back in the day.

Wow... These tracks are really incredible. Thank you very much for providing them :)

Well first off thanks everyone for participating to my grave digging ;)

This is the comprehensive list of the versions I have in my possession too. And as you and others said, Rich Douglas' version is the best by far. BUT it only gathers 11 tracks as you pointed out.

This is the main reason why I have been searching for Lundquist's rendition... more tracks, and it seems to have a pretty good reputation (apparently some more advanced work, like Rich Douglas).

I'll come back later and give the few links I've gathered so far that may help us in our "quest". Though the easiest would be to contact Lundquist more directly (if anybody can send him an email, a private message on another message board he's active on...).

Good digging everyone :whip:

EDIT: Oh and by the way, Rich Douglas is working with Patrik Spacek on Fate Of Atlantis: Special Edition (HD remake of the game)

So...

auto-redirects to:

https://web.archive.org/web/20030701103604/http://fanfilmsounds.thefiddler.net/indy/foamusic/

...which has a message from Kenneth Simonsen and thanking "the good people at theraider.net". Is it possible that "Lundquist" is Simonsen's alias?

...

Hah... yes. http://www.lucasforums.com/archive/index.php/t-118825.html has a dialog between Laserschwert (master of video game soundtrack album art) and Lundquist, and both alias and full name are used.

Case closed?

The link for the Douglas Fate of Atlantis Soundtrack is broken. Does anyone have a copy they can make available?

Huh. Is there a way to get the old version that he was giving away for free? The old version has 11 tracks.

Hi guys, sorry for necroing this thread.
I'm an huge indy fan and used to listen the soundtrack available at http://s-island.mixnmojo.com/fate.php.
I used to play the amiga version and that soundtrack was the most similar.
I did an huge mistake and never downloaded it and now it's gone.
I'm looking for it since a couple of weeks but it's no where to be found.
Tried also to contact the admins but the mail delivery fails.
Can any of you still have it and can share it? I'd be extremely grateful!!
I'm even thinking of buying an old amiga if i can find it just to rip it but it's extremely hard.
Please help out a fellow indy fan =]

First off, please revive any old threads to which you have something to contribute - we're in favor of that around here.

Second, it looks like Soundtrack Island should be back up again sometime in the rather indeterminate future.

Third, does this cached version of the site work for you?

Welcome to the Raven!

Hi, thank you for your prompt reply and for your hospitality !
Yes the webarchive works great , I have no words to express my gratitude :)
Shedding a tear of joy right now listening it, thanks thanks thanks very much!

Who would have thought, my login still works! Haven't been on here for years, but I have another one to add to the pile of "Fate of Atlantis" soundtracks, and that's mine (with only 4 tracks finished so far, there's still a lot of work ahead of me).

I was never quite happy with how any of the other soundtrack remasters for the game came out, especially in the brass department. Trumpets always sounded slurred, off-time, and generally not pleasing. And hey, the trumpets are the most important part of the Raiders March, right? So, I finally began working on my own remaster of the soundtrack. Starting from fresh rips of the game's music files, my first go was at the interactive opening credits of the game. This was important for me, just to nail the Raiders March (as it's so well known), and get it over with. I noticed that - as with other LucasArts games - there were slight differences between the AdLib and Roland MT-32 music files, sometimes adding or dropping an instrument line here and there. So I combined those whenever possible, to have the most "complete" version possible.

Using the Adlib-rip from VGMRips as my reference, I rediscovered this soundtrack like it was new to me (as I haven't played the game in years). And I instantly fell in love with the track playing when Indy tells Marcus about his time with Sophia in Iceland. And, crazily enough, I found that the AdLib and Roland versions of this track were two completely different, but equally lovely cues, which I've combined for my version.

The Map cue was a nice quickie on the side, while Sophia's Atlantis Presentation was one of the more important tracks, as it properly introduces the Atlantis theme. Currently I'm working on the Sunset & End Credits track, on and off, again, mostly to get the Raiders March down (a WIP of it can be found here, it's not great), but I'll probably jump around to some other tracks here and there, just to get a broader view of the music.

Anyway, long story short, enjoy the few tracks already finished:
