My new custom figures are: Willie Scott Club Obi Wan

German Mechanic
Henry Sr. Grail Temple
Doctor Jones (motorcycle chase Crystal Skull)

I apologize for the lousy quality of the photos. I have a cheap camera.

I know this is not entirely on topic, but as it's a customizing thread, I'm needing 2 of Indy's hat from the KotCS Indy with the jacket. I'm not really able to justify buying another figure just for the hat, as my budget is pretty tight these days. If anyone has and extra hat or two, I'll glady trade something, or pay. Please PM me. Thanx in advance.

indythecat - man, those look outstanding - but we seriously need to get you a better camera ! What's the recipe for the Shirtless ToD Indy ? I have an Anakin (Clone Wars) sitting here - but the mechanical arm is proving a headache to replace.

Anyways, a little later than promised (due to electronics issues), I finally get to post my Ark Ghost...

The Temple of Doom Indy is indeed a Clone Wars tattooed Anakin but I replaced the mechanical arm with GI Joe 25th anniversary hands (can't remember whose). The pants are from the Indy with bazooka figure as well as the head. The red strip of cloth is just a rubber band. Your Ark Ghost is really awesome by the way!

indythecat - Where are you sourcing the suits for your figures from if I may ask ?

The Doctor Jones from Raiders with chalkboard is just a repaint Henry Sr. Last Crusade figure with Indy head. I sanded off the bowtie and replaced it with a necktie to match the scene from Raiders.

For Doctor Jones from Crystal Skull I bought another Henry Sr. and a Bazooka Indy. I soaked both figures in hot water and pulled them apart at the waists and traded tops. Now the suit top was on Indy pants. A sculpted tie later and I had a motorcycle ready Dr. Jones. And the Indy top on the Henry Sr. pants meant I was just a custom vest and undone tie away from Grail Temple Henry.

Lao Che was complicated. He was glued together from an Indy figure, a GI Joe figure, the coat was made from 2 Indy jackets glued and sanded together with foam lapels. The vest was cut from a super hero cape and sanded down on the back to make it thinner. Feel free to ask here or PM me if anyone needs a step-by-step on how I made a specific figure.

Indythecat: That is some wicked nice work. We can only hope that A) Hasbro will make each of these awesome figures themselves and B)if/when they do, that they turn out as amazingly as your custom works. Kudos to you sir! Bravo!

Thank you very much! I'm working on a custom Elsa in Venice dress complete with rats. I'll post again when she's completed.

Again, thanks for the kind words.:D

Awesome. The only thing is that it would be better if the ghost would look like it's flowing through the air rather than standing straight up. Otherwise, it's great.

First off, that Ark ghost is brilliant, Inky Skin. It would be neat if you could engineer a flying version, but as is this display piece looks fantastic.

Secondly, by the grace and kindness of a fellow patron of The Raven, I finally acquired my first Last Crusade figure...Colonel Vogel. He's probably the best figure from the line so far that I own (I have yet to snag the much-loved Henry Sr.). Unfortunately, the paint job was awful...the application was about a 1/16 of an inch off the mark, so none of the color was where it should be. So, I gave him the once-over:

I also added the goggles, which are made from blister card plastic and a strip of vinyl:

Using acrylics, the face was completely repainted, and I did a wash on the uniform, then drybrushed the whole thing. I also painted his arm band. The figure was then sprayed with Krylon clear matte finish.

Superb work Glorbes.:hat: The repainted face really brings out the likeness of the actor, and the goggles look excellent.

Wow. That's just awesome. The repaint really shows off the figure's whole unique sculpt. Have you ever considered opening up a little repaints-for-hire business here online? I bet you could make some nice little side cash charging a modest price for great repaints like that. Have people send you their sloppily-painted loose figures and send em back looking great! I'm sure plenty of Raveners would love take you up on it! :)

Here's a figure I have yet to see, pic will explain it all, ;)

It's a small change but I think it looks better, all I did was use my old pitfall bodies arms paint them, and use my old ROTLA Indys legs for the darker colored pants. Hope you all enjoy it. :hat:

You know, you made me notice for the 1st time that Indy in the warehouse does not have his shirt sleves wrapped but loose.

Somehow my mind assumed that he always wears it wrapped when he doesnt appear with the jacket.

And i have seen the movie about 6 times...

Thanks for the kind words regarding Vogel, everyone.

I don't know if I'd be up for that, and besides I think such a thing might be considered soliciting. I have done this kind of work in the past, but I try to keep it more about fun and less about trying to turn a profit.

Does anyone know of a figure from another line (probably SW) whose head would make a decent Stanforth? I'd like to whip up a Dean of Marshall College with a Henry body...provided I ever get another. I may wait for that Battle Pack, as I'd hate to snag a second carded Henry when so many of you are looking for your first.

Haha, well I was kind of half-joking there, in that I'd love to own a figure that was painted so much better than the standard factory apps, but couldn't possibly see you actually wanting to spend your own free time painting OTHER people's figures. ;) Kudos on your sweet customs though!

Also, seeing as how much the Vogel repaint is able to bring out the quality of what was generally assumed to be a fairly poor actor-likeness Hasbro sculpt, have you considered (or already done) an Indy repaint? Everyone talks about how the non-KOTCS Indy's have sub-par sculpts, but I feel like they actually DO look like younger Harrison, especially at profile, but, like with Vogel, the factory paint jobs hide the quality. I'm curious what the sculpts would look like with a more detailed hand-done paint job like the one you did with Vogel. Anyway, just a thought.
