For what it's worth, they found a way to have Sir Alec Guinness in Eps V and VI too.

...as explained posthumously through flashback in an unmade prequel full of foreshadowing.

That casting site tends to fill in the blanks with guesswork and rumor. I wouldn't take too much stock in any info they give.

But we may not have long to wait. Buried in a Variety report about this past weekend's press junket, is word that VIII is about to start shooting in January.

It's kind of a bummer that we will have to wait an extra seven months for the next installment of the main saga, but I did like the December release of TFA. Christmas and Star Wars at the same time make me happy.

If there's one film that doesn't need click bait advertisements, it's this one.

There's a key Luke monologue here, full of spoilers if true. Seems rather long and repetitious, could be retold from memory or otherwise pieced together. Could all be fan fiction based on a leaked set picture.

The source of that rumor is ripped a new one in the article comments, being called SuperShadow 2.0.

That being said, there definitely is some kind of "I am your father" twist moment coming up the pipeline, everything points to that direction. If you want my guess, this whole beating around the bush about Rey's parentage is one big red herring. The reveal is the un-reveal: she is Luke's daughter. The real twist is that Kylo Ren is Luke's offspring as well, making him and Rey siblings, not cousins. Han and Leia were simply Ben's foster parents.

Prevailing scuttlebutt is that we're getting the title on Sunday as part of the "Star Wars Celebration" convention in London.

(I'd have said I'm skeptical about getting it, but it would have only been to seem smart if it doesn't. )

VIII's director is part of a panel either way, so details of some kind will be coming out.

Any guesses?

In a piece about John Williams' work on the BFG (and James Newton Howard's score for Fantastic Beasts) they state that Williams will begin recording the Episode VIII score this month, and expects it to continue off and on through March or April 2017.

While some online are already speculating this is rather early and could signify the film being moved up, I would point out that his schedule could have been set back when they were still expecting the film to release in May.

Not a bad title. It could be seen as being either singular or plural. So far Disney is two for two and I'm expecting this one to be just as solid.

Yeah they're definitely off to a good start IMO.

TFA established that Luke tried rebuilding the Jedi Order but failed, so he's the only "full Jedi" remaining. He's not the only one left with strong force powers, but "technically" the last "trained" Jedi.
