If this becomes another whine fest, i wont bother reading this thread anymore.

Ah, I don't mean that in a negative way. Those just seemed like unusual choices, and I wondered if there were specific reasons for them.

Threads like these should always contain some in-depth discussion about how a particular actor would do in the proposed role. If this one's just supposed to be a bunch of fantasy cast lists, it might as well get a lock on it here and now.

I could get behind Karl. Yes. But Megan is just too hot. Marion should be pretty and cute, yes, but not a centerfold.
I'm bound to agree with this comment. Fox is appealing eye candy, but perhaps too much of one for this role. And even more importantly, I don't think she could convincingly portray the grit Marion has.

1940s:
Indy - Eroll Flynn
Marion - Kathrine Hepburn
Belloq - Paul Muni
Toht - James Cagney

If we're talking 40s we might as well have Peter Lorre as Toht, seeing as Lacey was basically doing a Lorre impression anyway.

But Cagney .. now that's edgey! And he could do it too. A great actor. But if we're going that route I'd put Bogart as Toht. I don't think Bogey ever played a villain, which is too bad.

For Sallah, Thomas Mitchell, who was the Doc in Stagecoach and Uncle Billy in It's a Wonderful Life
