Verdun visit
I just got back from a short jaunt to Paris, and on the drive there I stopped overnight in Verdun. While I love history, my interest pretty much ranges from ancient to napoleonic, so I don't know too much about the World Wars. I only know of Verdun because of the Young Indiana Jones episode. Still, though I didn't venture to the battlefield (12 klicks outside the city) I did wander through the town itself. It's quite charming and beautiful, and I will be sure to post some pictures soon. Anyone else been there and visit the battlesite? I meant to stop on the way back, but you know how things go....
