Now that you mention it, I'd be a standard Prince of Persia action figure line might make for good Indy 3 3/4" fodder as well...

I don't think either line is going to last very long. Lego is very vehicle-centric, and most of the vehicles in the Indy films have been done. Prince of Persia doesn't have many vehicles :p

I was also thinking that...

But then I remmembered that I am protesting lego Prince of Persia, b/c if it sells well then Indy is long gone:( ;)

Oh, I very much doubt it'll last longer than a year or so. Very few LEGO licenses go on for very long, and some of them come and go in a matter of months (Speed Racer, for example). Indy is actually one of the more successful licensed lines they've done. The only ones that have lasted longer have been derived from ongoing film series with new installments at fairly regular intervals (Star Wars of course, Harry Potter, the first couple Spider-Man movies), and even then there's been no guarantee of LEGO's line continuing even if the franchise it's based on is massively popular - they didn't even keep the Spider-Man license long enough to do the third movie (MegaBlocks did sets from that), they've let the Batman theme end after not too long, and even the Harry Potter line seems to have faded away, at least for now. Even if Prince of Persia is a huge success, I don't see it outdoing those franchises, and I don't think any licensed LEGO line is going to outperform the movie or series it's based on. And if PoP bombs, the LEGO theme is likely going to last about as long as the Speed Racer one did.

At any rate, I don't think it'll perform better than the Indiana Jones one has (and I suspect a not-insignificant portion of whatever success it enjoys will come from fans who want its new elements for use in custom Indy creations, and LEGO surely knows it). From what we've been told, LEGO Indy hasn't officially been canceled but has instead merely gone on "hiatus"; while that does indeed sound like PR-speak for actually being canceled, they actually have had one or two successful licensed themes go on a brief hiatus and then return for additional sets before finally going away - Harry Potter has, and I believe Batman might have as well (though I'm not sure of the set chronology for the latter). Right now I wouldn't say the odds are good, exactly, but I do think there's a very real chance LEGO Indiana Jones will be back at some point after spring / summer 2010 - perhaps summer 2011, say.

If nothing else, I think it's extremely likely we'll get more LEGO Indy sets if a fifth movie gets made; it's also possible (somewhat less likely, IMO, but still well within the realm of possibility) that LEGO will use the upcoming 30th anniversary of Indy in 2011 (Yikes! Has it really been that long?!) as an opportunity to relaunch the theme after its hiatus. Let's hope...

I bought all the sets in the Prince of Persia theme during TRU's BOGO 50% Off sale last week. I really had no idea what Prince of Persia was, having never played the game (or heard of it really). The theme introduces new elements, including the first LEGO ostrich and camel. I think they'll integrate well with any Indiana Jones middle east display. Here are few pics of a Streets of Cairo I put together with five of the sub-$30 Persia sets and the Indy Ambush in Cairo:

This scene features two 7569 Desert Attack ($11), 7570 Ostrich Race ($20), two 7571 Fight for the Dagger ($30), and one 7195 Ambush in Cairo ($11). See the all sets in the Prince of Persia Theme at LEGO Shop@Home.

Arab Swordsman with Arab Headpiece

The Persia sets feature the new Arab headpiece in both black and white, which is more accurate than the turbans used in the Indy sets. Now you can equip the Cairo Swordsman with the proper headwear.

Bazaar Vendor with White Arab Headpiece

The vendor in 7571 Fight for the Dagger comes with the white Arab headpiece. This is useful for making a Map Room Indy, as well as Tanis Digs Sallah.

I haven't built the 7572 Quest Against Time. It kinda reminds me of the grail temple in The Last Crusade, with the saw blade traps and lion's heads. It wouldn't take much work to turn it into a grail temple.

The big set is 7573 Battle of Alamut, a cool looking fortress.
