Anyone know if there were or how many miniature were made for the IJ role playing games? I just accquired a classic TRS IJ game from 1984 and was looking to build it up.

Yes, there 12 from the '80s and 6 from the '90s. More info here in this excellent source of RPG info: http://www.ijc.at/Games/RPG/RPG.htm

Which game did you get? Also check out these threads. You might like them:

Indy rpg magazine stuff?

First Stoo, Thank you so much! You are a force of knowlege on these boards. You have no rival!
Second it was the Adventures of IJ RPG from TSR. The same folks who made D&D. It's the basic game set in the box.
Third this was a game I had as a kid/teen but was lost to time. I had thought of buying it off Ebay, but I had hesitated. I was so pleased to walk into a local used book exchange and found it there for only $6 and in pretty good shape. My long lost game is home again!

Perhaps the female student and reporter are from a scenario where Indy must leave Marshall College for Barnett...

And the professor, for that matter.

(We really do have a treasure trove of hard to resolve canon issues. Marshall/Barnett, Marion/Deirdre, Meeting Belloq, Shihaungdi's Tomb, the Crystal Skulls...)

Interesting. I have an Indy miniature which I assumed to be from the TSR game. However, he has a coiled whip in one hand and a pistol in the other - quite different from the one pictured. Any idea where he might have originated?

Quite a few companies have made not-Indy figures. Here are a few:

Citadel/Gamesworkshop:

Mark Copplestone has an Indy with a gun and uncoiled whip:

Artizan Designs had their Kentucky Davies:

And a Toht:

Pulp Miniatures do a cartoony Indy:

Grenadier did one a long while ago:

Hmmm. This is mine:

According to Cool Toy Review it IS a TSR Miniature. However, the set it was included in contained a number of ToD figures - was there more than one "The Adventures of Indiana Jones" selections produced ?

This is the place to go to research gaming figures:

On the TSR page under Indiana Jones here is a picture of all 12 figures in the box Moedred posted above:

(Your Indy is looking the other way, has his head been cut off and restuck?)

The other Indy came from a 1994 West End Games blister pack:

The WEG ones may have been made by Grenadier, as they made the Star Wars figures for WEG.
