Hey I just call it like I see it, pal. You're out of you're damn mind if you think Kingdom is a good film but I'm not going to be a fascist and tell people like you to get off the boards for expressing their opinions.
Yes, I'm a fascist because I'm tired of post after post after post after negative post of you saying how horrible the film is.

We.

GET.

It.

I admit the film has flaws, but I still love it. I'm willing to reasonably and logically discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the film, but all you do is walk in and say "Indy Iv sucks! This sucks about it! That sucks about it! Nuke the fridge!" I have not read one positive post from you regarding this film.

The board is here for those of us who want to discuss Indy, not get a negative opinion shoved down our throats daily. If that's all you're going to give us, then GTFO. Seriously. Either put up or shut up.

No matter how many Indy fans will say Mummy 3 is better than KOTCS Raiders of the Lost Ark will still be the far better than any Mummy movie. It wil still be a masterpiece. The three Indy sequels may not have been perfect but they were each show a different side of the character and develop it further. The thing I like about KOTCS is that the story really centers on Indiana Jones more than the others.

The fact that a review for Mummy 3 says you don't even notice that Rachel Weisz' character is played by another actress should tell you something and I liked Rachel Weisz in the first two movies!

This sums up one of the main reasons people like KOTCS, to see more Indy! I don't give a rats ass if it's perfect! Even though it was xD

How often do the words "important," "the Scorpion King" & "the Mummy Returns" get used in the same sentence?

And Steven Spielberg directed that abortion of a movie called KOTCS. What is your point?

Hey War of the Worlds wasn't that great either. Yet I wouldnt call it an abortion of a movie because I'm sure many people liked it as much as KOTCS. I think its obvious that Stephen Spielberg still knows how to direct an entertaining movie with a flawed script.

AVP:R is one of the worst films ever made! I utterly despise that film almost as equally as KOTCS. Both films are disgraces to their respective franchises.

If you want to call AVP a respective franchise... I definitely disagree. The first and second one was awful in my opinion.

Compared to the garbage that is KOTCS, they are.

To call this movie garbage is pretty naive in my opinion. Honestly the quality of this movie is not MST3K material. I've seen much more horribly crafted movies than KOTCS to know "garbage" when I see it.

Mummy 3 may be more action packed than KOTCS, but I'm pretty sure it won't add anything new to the series. What I liked most about KOTCS is that while being a tribute to the trilogy, it also added new elements that I never seen in an Indy film before. Another film that did this successfully in my opinion is Superman Returns, which I also really enjoyed.

the first AVP was insanely good, and if you say no to that than you really are a traditionalist. That's a personal problem and one that can only be fixed by you.
:)

But hey, if you like being a traditionalist, that's perfectly fine(just don't try to force your views in every post you make, which you seem to do).

I don't even know the characters. I hated the other Mummy films but I'm actually looking forward to this one since Indy was a total failure. I'll be laughing my ass off when a poor-man's Indiana Jones knock-off shows the REAL Dr. Jones how to make a movie.
"Now you're just being nasty."

I'm with you. Some people are just consumed by negativity. I'm sick of hearing it too. The film is good and fits right into the series. Everyone brought their "A-game" for this one one.

Oh, Spalky? Money talks, and bull**** walks. I guess you think 700 million means everyone in the world is stupid, except you?

Whatever. Mummy 3 is gonna suck too. They got lucky with the first but completely screwed up with the sequel and whatever the hell you wanna call Scorpion King.

... as far as lifting stuff from the Mummy. I doubt that they did, but I wouldn't release a movie knowing full well people would make that connection. Besides ants eating people like that is kind of cheesy.. even for Indy.

I just think their judgement on how to make an Indy film "cool" is all out of whack. Scenes like the monkey jungle swinging thing prove that.

Agent Spalko is entitled to his/her opinion. Although I've read it in every damn thread that I walk into. Even if it's the "one sheet poster" thread and personally I think that is border line TROLLING. That was irrelevant to that thread and yet you once again decide to bash KOTCS. What makes you think your opinion is so damn important that we give a shi---... that we care? Talk about something other than "KOTCS sucks," which you seem to have to work into everything you say on this forum.

I'm going to put you on my ignore list I think. Which is a shame, I hate to do that. I don't want to do that. But you are getting annoying. Very, very annoying.

Annoying. I'd pm you this but whatever... everyone feels the same way.

Maybe we should look at similarities between National Treasure and 'Crystal Skull'. The only one that stuck out to me while watching it was when the whole gang gets to the Akator treasure room and Mutt says, "This place is the mother load!" While in the theater I thought, actually there are about a million more tons of treasure under that church in National Treasure, that too is made up of artifacts from all over the world that any museum would sell it's soul for. It seemed like I had seen it and heard it all before, just that the treasure room in 'Crystal Skull' was MUCH MUCH smaller than the one in National Treasure. I think that whole scene should have been cut.

I think I've posted it once before, but I'm sure it got lost in that single thread I posted it inside of next to hundreds of other posts.

There are two major scenes in Indy IV that come almost directly from The Mummy Returns and Scorpion King: The pyramid vortex scene at the end and of course the ants scene.

In the Mummy Returns, at the end, we see our heroes escaping from a collapsing Pyramid, when they get outside of the pyramid, a vortex is swallowing the Pyramid whole. Not only was this scene in Indy IV, but the way it was done was almost completely mirrored. We see various foliage such as palm trees, bushes, etc. Flying about the vortex, and for a minute I almost thought I was looking at the same movie, until the UFO of course.

In the Scorpion King, we see our Scorpion King stuck in a sand pit with only his head above the ground, next to him is another victim, besides the point. The guards light the ant hills on fire if I'm right to draw out the ants. They are some big damn ants too. Not only are they big, they're red, just like in Indy IV, or should I say, in Indy IV, it's just like Scorpion King.

While I love Indy IV, two of the main scenes were blatantly stolen from a competing franchise.

:whip:

Those two pioneers in modern film love their homages, but to see them rip off scenes directly from films that are homages to thiers sent my mind into a paradoxical mental melt down.
