Here's some unused poster art by Drew Struzan. They surely found it too indiesque. :)

Thanks for posting that, Papa Jones! It's been taken down from the sites I looked at, probably because it shows the alien on it.

Yeah, they wanted to keep it secret. And that's also the reason why I only take a look at the upper third of the poster.;)

I would write a big SPOILER warning around that poster.

Awesome poster with Harrison on it!

I liked the other posters better, especially the one with Craig standing in the dark. This one here looks too fake for me, too much photoshoped, the sources of the lights just seem wrong.

Featurette:

After watching this, and considering Spielberg has produced both this and True Grit, I'm surprised he hasn't directed a western yet.

I was thinking the same! And that featurette looks great, along with that poster! (y)

I've seen this artist's work before, though I can't place where.

Edit to say: The artist is named Janee Meadows, and much of the work at her own website is not in concert with this one, so it's interesting. Obviously, there's some strong Saul Bass vibes here, and a great retro design overall. (Which, of course, is the reason I'm in this thread at all.)

got a full set of slurpee and big gulp cups...sweet.

Anyone else out there hear some people dimissing this movie like "Cowboys and Aliens? Really, Hollywood?" as if it's too far fetched or cheesey or unoriginal? Up theirs (y)

Though if it turns out that Olivia Wilde is supposed to be an Indian, I might shake my head a bit...

She could be part-Native American. And yeah, I kinda cringe when I hear the word Indian used to describe NA's.

There is American Indian, which strikes me as striking the right balance.

And, frankly, if this film is as Fordian as Favreau makes out, it will be about a specific tribe rather than just "Indians."
