Someone else start because I can't think of a single redeeming line anywhere in that hackneyed script...

1. You don't have to like the movie, but this thread is flamebait. Right?

2.

I thought John Hurt had a lot of good dialogue.
"Help"

"Henry Jones...Junior".

" not to space, the spaces in between space"
Indy:
"They all had the same problem, they weren't you honey."

Mutt:"Whoa".
Indy: "Whoa......Whoa!!!!"

Stop trolling you muppet. These threads are starting to annoy me.

It's not trolling it's a serious question. Since there are topics with this same title for the other three movies, this one deserves its own too.

Now stop spamming my topic. Either discuss quotes or get out.

You started a topic on KOTCS quotes but then said you couldn't think of any because thge script was bad. That's trolling.

I'm not going to let you derail my topic.

Now, does somebody have a favorite quote from this movie?

Major West said:
Yes, the quote from Indy about grandpa looking down and laughing. Did you not like that one?

I facepalmed through that quote.

But it's not what quotes I liked. It's what quotes everyone liked.

Ok, so we have one favorite quote. Any others?

No.

Actually there was one quote I liked.

"The lost treasure of Akator is Knowledge."

Why? Because MacGyver, Brian Blessed and a ****load of kids said the very same thing 16 years ago in MacGyver: Lost Treasure of Atlantis.

"The lost treasure of Atlantis is KNOWLEDGE!"

It's a favorite inside-joke quote for my friend and myself because it's just so inept and idiotic.

The imitator becomes the imitated. Very sad.

You do realise these films borrowed from other places in the first place, right?

Of course.

<-- Not stupid.

Though considering Lost Treasure of Atlantis is a pastiche of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis (read clear rip-off... and yes I still enjoyed it), it's sad to now see Indiana Jones ripping it off.

Indy: You don't have to get sore just to prove how tough you are, kid. Si'down!

Mutt: Do I look like a mailman to you?

Ok, everyone just calm down :D

How about I start this off:

This one was a crackup:
"The way you sink your teeth into those 'wubbleyous', I'd say eastern Ukraine"

Abner's Little Girl

The only thing Marion said that made me laugh: "I told you that because I thought we were gonna die."

And, I hate the scene, but a lot goes into setting the joke up:

"Why the hell didn't he finish school!" after the son revelation.

"What happened to all that doing what you love!" (not a verbatim quote)
"That was before I was your father."

Oh, and Indy says "This is intolerable" right before the quicksand scene.

Memorable? Maybe by function. But because they're awesome? Meh.

This one is memorable to me in terms of emotional impact and decent characterization:

"Ox, come on, help me. They're gonna kill Abner's little girl."

Not sure what it he said exactly, but it was something like:

'I can almost feel the bottom'

Also, the (great) scene where he and Marion are having a discussion the back of the truck, Indy says something like:

'We never had a discussion I won'.

I'm not sure what his exact words were, but I really liked it.

The lack of memorable quotes is the most tragic thing about this film. I quote the first three almost every day! Yet The Mummy has more quotable dialogue than KOTCS.

How on earth did "Their treasure was knowledge? knowledge was their treasure" get past the QC? It's absolutely appalling. Most of the dialogue at the end is appalling. So, so tragic.

Yeah, I'd say it's a bit difficult to come up with good lines. The thread stays.

Hmm...

Either the writing for Mac was good or Winstone just did a good job with it. The bit about Berlin was nice.

I thought it was funny when Indy used the skull to open the throne room and had to take it from Ox, "I'll give it right back Ox, I promise." :p
