Lack of News

It sounds more like MI6/the CIA than a movie :p

But I feel it's for the best. I suspect Lucas will have taken a keen interest in the security procedures, given his experiences with the Star Wars prequels. Spielberg seems a bit more eager to let a few tantalising snippets out to keep people interested (he was the person behind the camera when the first photo of Harrison in the costume was released). So I guess we have a good balancing act there!

I wouldn't mind a non-spoiling set photo every now and then. An weekly update to give us some little detail to chew on.

But I admire they're efforts to keep the movie secret, and so far they've succeeded.

By the sounds of that report, she's going to have a bigger role in the film than I anticipated.

As for lack of news, yeah a couple of photos of them taking a break would be cool but I'm kinda happy that I don't know too much. I want a little bit of knowledge and a bit of mystery at the same time.

The set is closed...really, really closed. No one gets near it without some kind of ID or escort. Nothing unauthorized goes in, and without a doubt nothing unauthorized goes out. Camera phones are checked for pictures, digital cameras are outright banned, and hand written notes are forbidden.

Laurent Bouzereau must be feeling really lucky right now with the access he probably gets to the set and cast.

When's the teaser due out? Dark Knight opens July '08 and we've already got a short (and slightly disappointing) trailer. When does Indy IV give us a teaser?

Maybe the reasoning behind keeping everything under wraps until near-end of '07 (action figures, teaser trailer, etc.) is to keep the masses at bay as long as possible. The fans are begging for table scraps, but I think many Indy laypersons aren't even aware that filming on a new Indy movie has begun. (Indy layperson = someone who considers themselves a huge Indy fan when it's on TV but otherwise spends no time thinking about it).

well since shooting the big shooting locations like new haven and hawaii are over they are only working in the studios.
there is no way for the media to get inside there. the is a high security level and only authorized people have access.
i don't think we will get a lot of new news until we see the first trailer

I actually think it's the opposite way around. Episode III was much more open at this point in production. In fact there were nearly daily production diaries that included photos. Many of Spielberg's most recent movies have been heavily under wraps until opening day.

Hey, we've been relatively spoiled. Next to NO news came out for Casino Royale until about 2 months before release. I'm happy with all the tidbits we've recieved for Indy 4. :)
