Indeed. Actually, now it's showing up. The first link is a scan of the actual sketch, whereas this has the contrast bumped up.
Thanks to various Raven members, I have a precious, .jpg collection of Hughes' drawings of Indy. 11 of them (8 pencils and 3 finished inks) from this thread are for the previously discussed, "Indiana Jones and the Jungle Queen", which is a story I would love.
It would have been a mash-up of Indy with the common clichés of a white, female leader of an African tribe and an extremely rare, albino
gorilla (only *one* has ever been found, and that was in the '60s). These themes have been used many times but I can't help thinking of "The Jungle Queen" (1937) serial and movies like, "White Pongo" and "White Gorilla" (both 1945).
Two of the inked drawings have dates: 1990 and 1992. Does anyone know anything more about this work? Why did Adam Hughes and Karl Kesel's project not work out with Dark Horse?
