Still, if it shows up and doesn't have the NSS number on the bottom (which the ToD posters should have had since they were still from '84) then your probably right that they're restrikes... at least they should be good quality ones I guess...

I picked them up as well...if they are not originals I am going to return. There are a few ways to tell.
As I said, style A should be 41" long but these have three general versions, 2 of which I feel more comfortable with. The first has white borders on the top and bottom, about a half inch thick on each. This was because the original prints were not correctly formatted.
Also, some with and without the white borders have the NSS info in the bottom center and bottom right in a white font. I have seen both...I would like one without the border but with the NSS info in white like this one:
If you have any of those two versions, they are legit. Dealers claim that rolled ones without the borders and/or NSS info are real too, but I compared these and the credit text is much sharper and clearer on the undisputed originals.
I recently got one that I thought was rolled with white NSS info, and it came without it. The colors matched the original that I compared to, but the text was blurrier, not to mention the Dolby symbol bled into itself without the distinct line that should be between the two "D"s. I think this is from the licensed Lucasfilm restrike stock, as well as these two for sale.
As I said, it will be interesting to see them in person, but I am open to sending both back to Lucas.
(By the way, style B is one of the hardest posters to authenticate. Front side should be egg white while back side should be bright white though...)
