Indy bandwagoners in the run in to KOTCS

Lets look at other films that have hopped onto the Indy adventure style bandwagon in the run in to KOTCS

So far theres already been released National Treasure:BOS and recently Ive noticed Nims Island being advertised with one male character looking like the most blatant Indy rip off you could imagine.

also Fools Gold apparently has a treasure hunting/adventure theme. So it has probably been released just now to make the most of the Indy anticipation.

what do you all think?

Could just be a cowboy, eh?
Remember, Indy himself is a ripoff, anyway.

yeah I'm not getting all high and mighty about it. I enjoy alot of the rip offs. unfortunately I feel this wont be one of them. In the film hes an adventurer though not a cowboy.

But, from what I gather, he is a fictional character is Jodie Foster's book, and therefore only in her imagination, almost spoofing, I guess you could say, the image of a hero. I thought of him more like a Jesse from Kathleen Turner's books in Romancing the Stone.

I haven't seen the movie, but read the synopsis on IMDb.

What do I think? Well, characters having adventures while searching for treasure is nothing exclusive to Indiana Jones. It was around long before Indy, and it'll be around long after.

Saying Fools Gold is a rip-off of Indy just because it involves hidden treasure is just stupid. It's a romantic-comedy. National Treasure may be Indy-esque, but again adventure/treasure-seeking is nothing new. It's just another fun genre that people can play around in.

No no! You've missed my point! Maybe I havn't worded it in the best way. I love adventure films of all sorts I didn't say that was a rip off. I described it as a bandwagoner.

Didn't say it was a rip-off!? As in I'm sure it was released appropriately just before Indy as they know adventure lovers will be more aware of what is being released at the moment while anticipating Indy. My point being that alot more of these films (as well as maybe the odd element stolen from Indy too) will be released or advertised around about now. Im not saying its necesserily bad. Just expected and had anyone spotted anything.
