Hurt was there to talk about "The Oxford Murders" but he did stray - slightly - onto Indy. He said he couldn't talk about it for fear of being sued by Lucas. He hasn't seen it yet either. When he was called back to loop his lines, they had a screwed-up black and white print running, so he couldn't make anything out. He will be in Cannes with the rest of the team on the 18th. He was very complimentary about Harrison. That's it - that's all he said.

That's all? I have to admit: I'm a bit disappointed... I was hoping that there would be some spolerish stuff about KOTCS, but no.... I guess I'll have to wait until someone (maybe Harrison?) goes (if goes) to Late Night with Conan O'Brien and it won't probably happen for a looong time...

Remember the set report early last year which described the academic Indy seeing somebody he thought was dead? Is this Abner? Does he come to warn Indy? Do the commies kidnap him on campus, leading to the bike chase? HELP!

Considering how many details that have leaked I suspect the name of John Hurt's character would have as well. Sure, there have been bogus and contradictory rumors. But in all the major details the real ones have been present among the fakes.
So the question is if John Hurt is NOT Abner Ravenwood who is he playing? If that is not his name why has the real thing never leaked when so much else has?

I found a cute little Indy emoticon with him tipping his hat on harrisfordweb forums and pasted it over here once, and a snooty bandwidth lecture appeared where the pic should be. Thankfully, though, it wasn't a glaring anus.
